Screw this game and the tauntaun it rode on.

I waited for 2 years for this second coming of AoC, and all I got was a bad taste in my mouth. 

I hope this game crashes and burns, I have no sympathy for the designers who lacked vision and creativity, nor do I care for the developers who must have been the droids bioware was looking for.

In fact, the experience was so bad, I've lost interest in entire star wars franchise.

Generally, there are two group sof people in this scenario.

Players with level 50 characters who are getting free game time. And I'm genuinely happy for those players.

Then there are the people (like myself) who aren't getting free game time. 

What bothers me is this:

As a thanks for being one of our most valued players, all active subscriber accounts with a Level 50 character as of April 12, 2012, 12:00 PM CDT, 5:00 PM GMT, will receive 30 days of game time** at no charge in appreciation for your support and loyalty.

The implication is that I'm less loyal because I don't have a level 50 character. I pre-ordered the game in October. Since then, not one second has gone by when I haven't been a paying subscriber but somehow I'm not as loyal as those people who have a level 50 character. I think I have a legitimate reason to be upset. 

Like I said, I'm happy for those who get the free 30 days but there are other people (like myself) who I believe deserve the free time, as well.

I don't know where to begin. I played SWTOR a couple of hours to see things for myself. But... it is such a letdown. The oh so wonderful Legacy system is a joke. Sorry. Yeah I can now put my toons in a family tree together. Then I get some abilities I can use every 20 minutes once, but only in PVP. How lame. Not to speak that even cosmetic stuff like mailbox in the ship cost a fortune. And for what?

I played Pureblood Jedi a while, only to see they didn't even have ANY NPC reactions. I mean, how can they not have at least *some* NPC reacting to that? I though that was one of the reasons it took them so long!

The rest is the same old and nothing has changed. Sorry, but this isn't the wonder patch you were looking for. I mean, I knew it wouldn't be, but seeing it finally for myself is a different thing.

You know guys, I feel no glee [mod edit]  Not at all. It just makes me sad. How could this happen. And now 30 days free. Yeah, as if that helps! People don't leave because it costs, people leave because they game is lame!

It's PRIDE. 

You know, in certain older civilized cultures, when men failed as entirely as you have 
they would throw themselves on  their swords.  Or would you be killed in your sleep 
like an ailing pet?
Whatever your failings Bioware I believe you deserve better than that. So just throw 
yourself on your sword and make way for a better world. 

Since its only for people with active subs I guess they are rewarding those who have stuck with them. A nice gesture.

If they ever improve the game I hope they give 30 days to those of us who quit after a week or 2.

You know, I get the feeling what they've done is figured out that once people hit 50 with one or two characters and messed around with some alts, they quit.  To keep the current people with 50s playing, they did this.  Meanwhile those that havent hit 50 yet, are sure to keep playing anyways, as they havent hit 50.

If i'd still played this game and i didn't have a lvl 50 character, i would probably be pissed off.

lol It's like BW is saying to those that didn't jump ship, "Thanks" and for everyone else that did "Don't care about you".

edit: actually that isn't true since they have another free trial period for them as well.

I think that happened a while ago.  This is more the part where the ship cracks in half before the final plunge.

I'm actually suprised at how quickly they've had to move to such a drastic action.  I didn't think things were going that badly.  Certainly not as well as they've been trying to lead people to believe, but giving away a free month?  Quite unexpected.

Look I understand there isn't much to do once you hit level 50, but if you are bored and are planning on stopping soon anyways, what does a free month give you?  Generally when I have enough of a game, the developers couldn't pay me to play it.  Free time doesn't entice me to keep playing.

That's what it sounds like to me, too, only it still doesn't seem to make any real sense. The majority of the complaints about this game is that 1) there's nothing to do at end-game and 2) the game isn't different enough per-playthrough to warrant a bunch of alts (unless you're choosing a different "side" from your main, so then you get two different playthroughs, but then you're essentially done). I only made it to about 30 so I can't confirm that, but that's what I've read.

Why, in that case, would you attempt to keep the people who've essentially done it all already, rather than entice the people who are still trying to? It would be nice to have those 50s come back to help the others and provide more of a community, but I think it should have been done some way other than free game time or at the very least, extended it to a broader range of playerbase.

Bioware seems to be doing a good job of irking people, lately. The company's been around long enough to know better, one would think.

This is amazing. The ship that is bioware is sinking right before our eyes. I guess greed can corrupt the best of campanies.

The most it does is get people interested in rolling another character on the opposite faction and play it to 50 since all of that is completely different content.

JO: We always take feedback from the community and from all kinds of different sources like our telemetry metrics, and take it very seriously. When we hear that from the community, we are listening. We have the plan to allow for character transfers in the future.

Is there any discussion of merging servers or adding incentives to move players to low pop servers?

JO: No, we’re not going to. Merging servers is not something we are looking at. We have a very healthy game right now, so that is not something we are looking at in the near future. We're always going to look at ways to make sure a server is healthy. There are a whole bunch of different ways you can do that. We're discussing them. We want to make sure players feel like there are enough players on their server to play with.

I was leveling my second char when the subscription was about to kick in.  I would of continued leveling alts for a few months if there was no sub cost.
