Still the best MMO ever made. It's too bad so many people skipped it and started with WoW. Now the Genre is turning to garbage with garebear game play and instanced PvP.
Pray Dominus does it right. |

I tried to get back into this about six months ago and couldn't get past the UI. If they'd ever update that, I'd get back in because RvR was awesome.

I know there is custom UIs for the game. I was amazed at the ease it was to make a macro. That said I can see how not having a standard hot bar could be frustrating.

It wasn't just the UI, everything just felt clumsy to me. I dunno, I played it the first time around but maybe I've gotten used to newer systems. Gah - anyone read the latest notes? Relics are going back into keeps - with guard strength determined (at least partially) by controlling other keeps!
Can we just go back to the old frontiers? I'd go back :D |

Best.. game.. ever...
Please create an updated version that just mirrors the first game (pre-TOA) with updated graphics and network perfomance. It's like a license to print money...

That's something I'd be interested in also. What's old could be new again. |

Fond memories of this game. Not so fun watching the exodus after the Trials of Atlantis expansion all because a long difficult quest chain unbalanced the pvp. Sad thing was watching the dev team do little to fix it. The constant over nerfs of the fotm classes and the over the top crowd control did not help either. Still was some of the best pvp I have ever experienced in a MMO. |

Fond memories of pre-ToA Dark Age of Camelot... ...Demon Prince raids in Darkness Falls... ...Sieges on Keeps, using siege weapons --OR--- working with others to purchase materials on the fly to fortify keeps under siege... ...Groups helping each other out for quested class gear... The list goes on and on. |

Waiting for DAoC2. Come on Mythic, revive yourself from Warhammer. |

the battlegrounds were a good idea back before the idea of level boosting and sidekicking, now they need to be removed so people will use the real frontiers, and have everyone level boosted to 50 when there. of course this is several years too late, but hopefully if there's every a daoc2, it will do it that way.

DAoC had balanced populations? I guess Mid wasn't the FOTM realm before the LA nerf that left Hib woefully underpopulated. Then Mid had a mass exodus that crippled them on every server while everyone and Grandma played the stun, shrooming Hibs. Alb was always the land of the sheep zerglings.
Great game, but Mythic couldn't just leave good enough alone. |

I would say that while populations may not have always been balanced, the beauty of a 3 sided game is that (though maybe against the rules) sides would band together to fight the FOTM machine. I have fond memories of us Hibbies and Albions allying for a good for few weeks to take down the Midgard machine, or perhaps Hibbies and Midgard to take down the Albion machine. Rarely though did I ever notice Hibbies have more than anyone else. Playing since '99, this was and still is my favorite game ever. It is unfortunate as many say that ToR messed everything up. More unfortunate still was me trading my daoc account of 4 years for an Everquest account after ToR came out. Still wish I never did that, I probably would be playing it now if I had not traded it away... I am entitled to my opinions, misspellings, and grammatical errors. |

This game is good, I got 80 Barb on AoC, 80 Paladin on WoW, level 40 blackguard in Warhammer, 50 sith warrior SWTOR.
That being said, DAOC imo is still the best MMO.... if they would update the anitmations, and add a more user friendly system for quests. And a few more sandbox features IMO it would be the perfect MMO. |
