I took a cue from xenpt's thread about headsets to make this thread. I was pleasantly surprised at how positive people were in his thread, and of the great advice that was given. I'm also looking for a gaming mouse to buy before GW2 releases to replace my 7 dollar shit one. So what is the best gaming mouse out there? which one's do all of you prefer? Also, I'm on a budget, so please keep your suggestions on gaming mouses under 150 dollars, preferably under 100 dollars though. |

I'm loving my Logitech G500. I used to have a Razer mouse but due to having issues with it and my Razer headset, I'll stick to Logitech from now on. Look up the G500 (wired) and the G600 (wireless). Both feel great, not bulky and have plenty of options for gaming. |

Do you want a mouse with a lot of different buttons? Because if you want a decent mouse but without a gazillion buttons, you can't go wrong with an MX518. My 518 has lasted me years, it's virtually indestructable. It'll probably survive a nuclear war. And it's relatively cheap. You can probably find one for $40 or so.

Originally posted by heartless Yeah, having a mouse with a lot of buttons would be nice. I've been playing my computer games with a 3 button, with mouse wheel mouse. It's criminal I know, I've been having to press key's for my abilities!! It's dreadful! |

High DPI and 12 programable keys at your thumbs disposal.
Nothing else out there compares to these. Nothing even remotely close.
Edited to Add: I do recomend getting the performance pads for the Naga from the Razer Store. Much better than the stock ones, slides so smooth. Works great without them, but works even better with them. |

I can't help you a ton, but one I DON"T recommend is the CM Storm Sentinel. Although comfortable in my hand, my computer randomly seems to not recognize it on boot up, and it doesn't do this with any other mouse. I program all the settings, and it never remembers them. keybindings never stick, and I've never found a way to get several of the buttons to work at all. POS in my opinion. I did however, just pick up the Razer Nostromo. Although not a mouse, its a keypad with thumb joystick. Total joy for us left handers who are otherwise useless. Now I'm looking for a mouse to go with it as well |

the Naga is a terrible, cheap mouse. Razer stuff will break down in less than a year. |

Those razer's are pretty ridiculous, I'm not sure If that excess of buttons for the thumb is necessary. Although I can choose whether I want to use them or not also. They are also pretty reasonably priced. Something like that I would expect to be rather pricey but they aren't. Somebody brought up in a previous post though that Razer's aren't made that well? Anybody who has used Razer mouses before have anything to say with that?

G700 - Wireless + Wired + Good software + Plenty of buttons Naga - I believe now has a wireless/wired version. All razor software is garbage from my experience. Has the MOST buttons... But are you really going to use and REMEMBER how to press 12 different buttons with just your thumb on that small mouse? G700 has 4 on the side, and three extra on the top next to your index finger. 7 buttons is plenty for any MMO i've played combined with 1-4, Q, E, R, F, Z, X... bla bla bla... Not to mention using SHIFT + mouse buttons works wonders.
In the end, i'd go with logitech just because the software they make has always been good. All the extra buttons in the world won't matter if the software doesn't support them properly. My Logitech keyboards (for example) are the ONLY gaming keyboards i've ever had that actually have a quality volume control. Microsoft keyboard has delayed volume (turn knob and wait for volume to actually adjust). Same with my last (and only) razor keyboard. Delayed volume controls suck! |

If you want to have some fun grab a Razer Hydra lol. I have a Razer Onza and a Razer Hydra when I do PC gaming on my TV. Mouse and keyboard are for when I'm at my desk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQkATuxo2c8

Originally posted by slicknslim88 I have had a Razer Anansi keyboard and a Naga mouse for a while now, and I can say they are by far the best products I have used in a long time. No issues with anything, their drivers and software are easy to use. I will keep using Razer products after these. |

The best gaming mouse for you is one that works right (of which there are many; if it's wired and laser, it probably qualifies), feels comfortable to use (a matter of opinion), and has the right number of buttons where you want them (also a matter of opinion). I like my $15 mouse better than some much more expensive ones that I've used. |
