Originally posted by DeserttFoxx Dude, it has nothing to do about being carebare or not. The fact of the matter is........"YOU" dont matter. You are not a factor on the battlefield. Your server is a factor, your guild is a factor, but you as a singular player means nothing. Lemme help you out. You are not an unique snowflake. You are not a PvP god whose sole actions bare weight upon this world. That being said, your guild, AS A TEAM, is a factor, your servers ability to work together is a factor. I dont know if Anet will implement a kill ticker or not. Even if they dont, team work and coordination should trump the day.......not personal achievements. If you are looking to be hero, go play COD. |

I have played so many FPS games like BF and CoD, and its so rare to get any teamwork. The teams I did see were almost always real life friends, using vent and pwning everyone. Hopefully we will not see this in GW2. |

I like it nameless, actually. I don't want to be confronted with even the slightest pangs of guilt. None of you are people, just meat bags wielding pointy sticks. I shall feel nothing as I jam an ethereal javelin into your barren chest cavities, as it should be, rawr! If I could have one wish, it would be to be able to capture enemy standards and then have a server wide party in the main city center with the enemy standards on display as war trophies. |

Originally posted by gaeanprayer I kinda agree with this. I used to be pretty opposed to the idea of not seeing an enemy's name. However, you will get that in the battlegrounds, which is a much more focused PvP setup. In WvW, it is kinda nice to not see a person's name, but rather what they represent. You can recognize someone by their armor if you look, so I'm sure there will be pleanty of situations where you see the same 'charr ranger in golden armor' and think, 'hey... that's that same jackass that was trying to ninja our keeps earlier... GET HIM!'. Furthermore, you will see what guild people represent. This is going to lead to a lot of situations (and already has in some of the beta events), where you have the more skilled guilds building a reputation for themselves, and when you see that tag rolling across the map people will take notice, and hopefully take action. |

Originally posted by Bunks !!! That would be so awesome! I hope you posted that on the gw2guru forums as a suggestion. Even if they reserved it as a feature to add in later, having the ability to take 'spoils' from the enemy, and hang them up in each race's capital city as a trophy would be amazing. Or even just your personal instance. Having a 'trophy room' of WvW achievements would be epic! Excellent idea. |

Originally posted by Bunks That would be awesome. Seriously, this would be a great idea. If you could capture an enemy guild standard and boast over it would be the unltimate shame to endure for the losing party. Bunks, havent you filled your quota for good ideas for the day?
EDIT: I really cant stress enough, how good of an idea this is. Post it everywhere. |

I prefer names. All this pro-teamwork mumbo-jumbo doesn't make me want them any less.
Besides, football requires some of the best teamwork in sports and there are defintiely players that stand out. I think those players get recognized by the other teams and then get dealt with accordingly. If anything, adding names might actually add to some of the strategy in dealing with the players that are better.
What is wrong with someone being recognized for their skill? Should we not be able to see any PvP titles on each other so that no one gets more credit than the next guy? Should we just homogenize the whole experience in the interest of "teamwork"?
I ust don't accept that teamwork argument at all. SWTOR is the greatest mmo ever! |

I agree I would like to see names as well, it does help us to coordinate some, like kill that healer Gandolf, instead of, OMG that dude in the whtie robe with the big staff, kill him, when their could be like 20 of them that look like that. |

Originally posted by Maephisto I dont know how hard it would be to organize it or if Anet could without the guilds doing most of the footwork. But to me it would be an awesome display of server pride if guilds could march thru the main cities road toward their guildhouse while holding captured standards from the weeks battle. Sort of a guild pride parade through town. |
