You find out that you have to start alllllllll over again when April 11th 2012 gets.  I don't understand why we can play on the other servers and waste our time, i feel bad for the high level guys and gals. After working so hard and have to start over, i think NCsoft could of handled this issue at a different matter. I don't mind starting over but i wish i would of knew that before i got the subscription even though i got 600 ncoins so i am happy about that. Thank god i have patience for all of this.

That would be such a disaster [of hilariously epic proportions considering how hard it must have been to level to max in Aion]. I can' t even begin to imagine the outrage it would cause.

You only have to start over if you chose the new server. Then, you can probably do a transfer with your max level toon if you even want to transfer at all. I have no idea what he/she is talking about.

all game are like that !new server mean you start from level one!just stay on your sever then !problem solved !

ohh I think he thinks patch 3.0 will only happen on the new server, no it will happen on all the servers.

yeah man :( It is, i was really hoping they'd merged the servers together so we won't have to start over, my friend she's a level 32 Cleric, and she is so upset that she has to reserve her name/create a new character. I don't mind at all i am very wise, along with the patience i have, i just feel sorry for her and the rest of you girls and guys. If you are all high ranked. I don't have a link but i created a ticket via customer service and the lady told me i forgot her name, but a guy named Zach C he'd tell me different well... this was about a few months ago so i understand how things have changed. So they really didn't know what to expect a lot of things can happen in one month.

Well not all games, my friend is ukranian, and it was just like this on how things would go making the transition from pay to play to free to play, severs we're still there... Probably other games like you've stated.

Im confused to the what you mean,  No one has to start over to play the game,  two of the servers gon merged on the 28th (vizel and zikel)  if you rolled on one of the old servers or have been playing for a while then you are fine to play on that server. however if you want to play on the new server yes you have to start over as they are not allowing server transfer to the new server.

Other then wanting to play on the new server no one has to start over

I'm not starting over, that would be virtual suicide! XD

Oh my bad dude! I had to go out didn't realize what i said, What i was saying is that my friend is ukrainian, and he played this russian based mmo but based on russian language only, i dont know the name of the actually game it was short lived. During the time like AION is making the transition now to the free to play model. The russian mmo that i am talking about, the guys and girls didnt have to start over the servers we're rolled in from the pay to play over to the "newly" free to play model. Sorry about hte mix up!

Yeah man i feel your pain, but if i have to start over, hey i'll start over simple as that. If it's something that i love i am going to get back into it no matter how long it takes. I can wait. I was only level 14 so it was really no big deal to me. Already created my Two Characters for the server..

You seem to be ignoring what everyone is trying to tell you lol, you won't have to start over no matter what server you are on. The patch will take place on all servers and there won't be any character wipe. 

Well i am just reporting what I've recieved when cust service replied to my ticket...

The only reason you would have to start over is if your old account was banned or is unrecoverably lost, or if it was on EU and you are wanting to play on NA (or vice versa) as there have never been character transfers between different regions.

Edit: or if you were playing on a pirate server.

I just made a new character got him to level 30+

Heard about the new server, reserved my name and stopped playing untill april 11th.

Why did i decide to do this?  PvP sucks if your not a twink or max level...its non existant.  In the abyss if people run when they see me its a fair fight, if someone engages me its a twink...theres no fun pvp.  Also the low and mid level instances are not run.  How can i fight twinks if theres no groups for me to get twink gear ect.

Also i want to roll asmode, which is suicide on the old servers.

Basically they need to start merging more of the old servers.  Anyone who isnt a vet doesnt want to play witht he vets and their twink alts.

logged in a few days ago, characters from launch still there.

had friends make new accounts, playing with them on my old account from launch.

No problems as of yet, free to play launched the 4th <----- 

3.0 launches tomorrow.
