Originally posted by Steazy It looks better than TERA combat, which won't even allow you to move while using skills. Originally posted by fiontar Seems you where the only one that actually watched and understood the video, there was so much going on with only 5 skills, he was fighting stuff higher level and did a great job of timing his skills and dodging out of harms way.
This was a video that showed the opposite of the post title and noboddy even noticed exceot you. the button mashing comments where sarcasm.
Thank you all for prooving again that most of the negative comments are build on nothing.. never seen combat like this at level 5. and with more skills and a 2nd weapon it will get only better and harder. Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

Remember that guild wars 2 video, where the developer so boldly claimed about the WOW! factor of combat instead of that old boring "wow i swung my sword again, and i swung it again!!." That video is proof that arena net hyped the crap outta guild wars 2. All PVE combat in that game is done with a total of 10 buttons, and most videos show a guy running in circles spamming a damage attack.
Another point they used to hype about was how levels don't matter and that leveling up is really quick. Then it releases that the standard level takes 1.5 hours..... And then they release a cash shop that sells +XP per hour consumables because there game "doesn't have a grind to max level". Sure the game might be fine, but the amount of lies im hearing it's absurd. |

Originally posted by Distopia Other then the fact he used a slow, a damage attack and a form of blink. I dunno, maybe because all the spells have been done in WoW and done to death since the dawn of time. However I was not referring to world of warcraft in my post, I was refferring to the word "wow" as in amazing combat. |

Originally posted by Rollcage8 Well either way WOW's combat is what we've seen over and over since, with the exception of a few, so I think it's fair to say they achieved what they set out to do; something different rather than simply exchanging blows ad nauseam. Unlike someone else who did promote the idea that their combat was also going to be action oriented, when it wasn't at all. Edit: I was assuming the "WOW" meant WOW rather than wow! yippee. As it now makes more sense, My bad on that. For every minute you are angry , you lose 60 seconds of happiness."-Emerson If you can't argue the point don't say anything at all. |

Originally posted by Rollcage8 When I saw that video I cringed a little. However, I think most of the hype came from the features they announced and have expressed through the press beta. Most of the videos on the forums that I've seen are gameplay footage from the press. Originally posted by Rollcage8 He wasn't spamming it. Some of the spells worked better up close, so he timed those spells to be used up close. I will admit though that it doesn't seem like much by just looking at it. The cooldowns are pretty big. I wish he had a engineer tool kit in that video just so he had something else to pull out. Originally posted by Rollcage8 What they said was actually pretty true to some extent. Sidekicking demeans rushing to a level cap. That +XP consumable might mean next to nothing to players who just want to play along with others. |

Originally posted by Lord.Bachus I figured that was what you were up to, which is why I never took you to task for the post. :) Great video for making the point, btw.

Originally posted by Quenchster You don't try to sell items for real money if you don't think people will buy them. The only reason to buy an XP potion is to level to the cap faster. Which contradicts statements made about lack of grinding. Yes the combat is in fact a close approximation of world of warcrafts endgame combat, and as some posters have loosely pointed out, at least its engaging at level 5 rather then at level 50. Star wars showed me that playing simplistic low level combat isn't entirely interesting to someone who has done it alot before. Just for the record, I have zero problems with world of warcraft and guild wars 2 combat, both are fine for me. It's the complete "say one thing" and "do another" that arena net is pulling with this game.

Well, GW1 had xp scrolls as well and it had a level cap of 20. So really the "grind" is a nonfactor unless you are deliberately choosing it to be (since grind is just a state of mind). |

Why do you think he is only one who understand how GW2 prolly will be? I just bought the COLLECTORS EDITION of the game becouse of what i think it will be and i surely dont listend to haters who on most accounts are biased and with close minded opinions. I did not look at this video becouse i dont understand french but i saw houres of other videos to have fair knowledge of judging the game to GO FOR IT:) Im a sandbox fan never got myself so involved in themeparks but GW2 i give chance becouse it realy seems a new appraoch how we gonne play mmo's its challenging and fresh with no classes and dynamic events plus game have a artistic way that appeals to me. So he is not only one who see game is not simple button mashing. I quit Guildwars 2 for now im fed up with empty world:(... played:AC-Darktide,AC2-Darktide,L2 and Darkfall.Solo Fav games:Morrowind,DayZ(PLAYING NOW), Skyrim, Bioshock, Age of Empires 2, Soldiers of fortune 2 and many more... |

Originally posted by Classicstar Firstly look at the two sentences in red. Do you think what he was saying matches up with what you think he was saying? Here is a hint. You have totally misread what he said. Secondly this is the first post you have made in this thread, so how exactly could Lord Bachus have known if you agree with him or not? Technology is not advanced enough yet to allow the internet to implement mind reading software Also your statement in blue proves Lord Bachus's first sentence in red to be correct. The comments on this website do make me chuckle |
