Nah, he crossed the line the moment he mentioned the name. WHICH, I might, add only happened during the Q&A. People keep thinking the name (some think RL Name, fuckwits...) was dropped during the slide show.
If Mittens had not dropped that name, he'd be in the clear. And we'd be mocking all the QQers and telling them to HTFU. I reiterate, the only issue is he dropped the PLAYER NAME, he could have said every last word and been fine. Momement he said the name it was over the line. Quotes from the "victim": "Ok.. Well that is nice. Hmm.. wait.. If i do kill my self they might arrest him and prosicute him since he is in the US.. That would really be bad for him." This "victim" is just as much a tool as Mittens. Hell when questioned about it the guy didn't even know what was going on and didn't even seem to care, yet everyone else goes off bleating and braying like jackasses. Apologies were made, none of this changes your life in the least, just move on. http://www.evenews24.com/2012/03/27/failing-in-so-many-ways-the-mittani-%E2%80%93-hero/ |

Or we could quote the Wis's forum post where he had had time to think about events
" OK.. I really do not know what to say. I am at a loss for words with all that is going on.
I guess I should say that this is not about someone alt in eve.
This is not about someone losing isks they worked for.
This is not about someone losing a machanaw in the game.
This is not something I started. I was really shocked to see the video monday night when I finaly had time.
This is all really about a person that is over joyed in making some one hurt as much as they can in real life not in game.
Going by his power point I have to say he thought about it long before getting drunk.
If thowing my name out there was something he planed to do or not that I can not say, and we will never know for sure.
But when reflect the way he talked about my mail. I am sure that was an option he was holding on to and tossing up becouse he was really enjoying tomenting someone.
I am sorry this is not the alt in the game that is talk but the person playing the alt.
There are allot of people out there that have real life problems, but they are warned when they join Eve. Whats said and done in the game doesn't bother me, its all part of Eve.
To me this **** got real and hurt full when I watched a video where a complete stranger urged other complete strangers to try make me kill myself."

Originally posted by Rohn Which is just another example of the dangers of cultural Marxism. "Cyber bullying" is such a vague and easy to abuse term that certain ideologies ("Progressive" comes to mind...) find great utility in it to attack those who "offend" their delicate sensitivities. Then of course there are the "conservatives" who jump on such things in order to pander to the soccer mom demographic. Over all, its a really dangerous concept structure, but all too topical of the age we find ourselves in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_Marxism Lord knows I'm no fan of the Goons or Mittens, but the fellow was drunk out of his mind, did issue an apology, and nothing has come of his irresponsible nonsense. I can see CCP removing him from the CSM (after all it is an official function of CCP, and they have to be concerned about the bad PR), but banning his account, for out of game actions, just to appease certain hysterics? In a word NO. |

@Wraithone Many believe that was done to make a show for Sony. Sony, from what I've heard, is extremely anal about "smack talk" in general. And then with this new thing with Bullying and how it'll hurt "da poor wittle darlings fweewings" distraction [from real world issues], every company is out to CTOA. Just like they did eithe "Green Fade". Everyone's so worried about what to say that nothing of meaning ever gets said. Amazing how he suddenly cared so much about it after everyone made a big stink. Let me ask you, do you even know this guy in real life? How the hell do you know whether his mail in EvE that started all this was anything other than BS? He could have completely made up the story about killing himself over a divorce hoping it might get them to leave him alone, only to have it blow up in his face. Hell I heard this guy was stalking and making RL threats against people when the miner ganking was going on. Do I know for sure if that happened? I'm no more sure of it than you can be of his divorce/suicide story. Now he's probably riding this for all he's worth to get attention, especially since the goons kept ganking him. After all, this is the same guy who claimed he might kill himself just to get the guy arrested. That right there tells me he's little more than a drama queen. He makes such an out pouring about how this isn't about isk or a lost ship - well why write such an over dramatic email if it isn't a big deal? And considering he knew what the goons were like, why the hell would he not see that something like this might invite more problems? Tugging on the heartstrings of people who have proven they don't give a damn isn't a fruitful effort. But let me ask another question of those railing with rightous indignation: how the hell does any of this affect the lives of any of us posting here? So many people are acting like Mittens ran over their puppy. Is Mit a complete and total asshole? Without a doubt. He probably meant to drop the guy's name drunk or not, though I highly doubt he'd go as far as hoping the guy would really kill himself. He probably didn't believe the guy's story anymore than I do. But his actions did nothing to you other than offend your sensibilities. He apologized, end of story. Whether anyone else accepts it doesn't mean a damn thing. There is only one person who's acceptance of the apology matters, and it is the guy involved. I do know one thing, by making a huge deal out of this you guys only succeeded in putting a target on the guy's back, nothing more. By pushing so hard for things to be done to Mittens and keeping this drama going, you are now giving the goons an excuse to make this guy's life miserable. Good job, mission accomplished. |

And yet you point out my posting still, by posting yourself? That's just stupid. You also show you aren't bright by claiming I'm justifying something that I already called Mittens an asshole for, guess reading isn't your strong suit. My point was that idiots like you rail on and on when it really isn't any of your business or mine. It is between Wiz, Mit and CCP. The guy apologized, got the ban and everyone needs to move on and quit making articles about it. Clearly that went over your head. Please do shove your indignation right up the same place you have your head lodged. |

I can't say that I'm surprised something like this has happened in this game. It's rather typical behavior. I'm glad I left this game and haven't looked back. |

I was horrified by the comments Alex made. I have helped a friend who was trying to commit suicide get emergency help. It was not fun. Depression and suicide are very real problems, and people who laugh at it don't understand the gravity of the problem or how to help. I wrote about it for TORWars.com about a week back. http://torwars.com/2012/03/29/its-a-tough-job-helping-suicidal-gamers/
