Originally posted by Volarin Some extremely bad advice above. Trying to turn Darkfall into some sort of faction vs. faction World of Warcraft style game will turn off the playerbase that they are catering to. Darkfall is an FFA game, the entire point of the game is to have "epeen clan vs. clan". That's what FFA full loot pvpers want, they do not want some sort of WoW type game. The problems with the game had nothing to do with the PVP system. Darkfall's problem was the absolutely massive grind, and the massive advantage that undertaking the grind gave the grinder. I'd still be playing Darkfall if it wasn't for that horrible horrible grind.

what happened to the link can anyone inform me?
on the darkfall forums there have been suspicions that there was a beta going on with most of the community not knowing about it.
Did something leak? |

All nice and good but why we had to get the info about DF beta / release 2005 in a documentary made by some greek TV in 2012 and not then when it was needed ? That alone shows you how they they value their playerbase, TV shows, Business Events, there seems the hand out Information that poses them in the best light. Not the first time player found themselves such events and presentation without a word from the company. Their daily business isvery different from those presentations and to refer to the point about the 2005 beta/launch the playerbase got not a single word about and now 7 years later ! we have to learn that a credit institute stoped the funding on the project and they had to restart it. 7 years later and from a 3 party random source ! The sad part is they didn't changed a bit since and we still don't know exactly why DF2010 didnt happen in 2010 and why Arena expansion never happened and whats going on with wipe and Beta. This company just doesnt value their customer regarding communication. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- "There was suppression of speech and all kinds of things between disturbing and fascistic." 200 players a second? If the servers had not crashed... that would of sold as many as Shadowbane did in their first day. 300k copies or more. The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. |

For all its faults, i keep missing DF. Well, DF, SWG and DnL... Seems like Aventurine was trying really hard to do something great, they just couldnt pull it all together... Hope DF2.0 works out for them! Those who suppress freedom always do so in the name of law and order - John V. Lindsay |

The next person to say that FFA PVP games are a EPeen measuring contest need to go wash the sand out of their Evag.
My clan just got back into Darkfall. It's a struggle that's for sure. A new player is nothign more than a punching bag for a veteran, but after 2 and a half months I can tell my character is getting there. Where I used to die in 3-4 hits it now takes them 8 or 9. Where I used to cause no damage I now take them down to half or so life. It is a struggle, but nothign that's worth it has ever been easy. Originally posted by Blindchance Ya sorry bros it's not WoW. You can't reach endgame in a week. You actually have to put in work to be good at this game. Yes free time is nice. Make some good inestments and maybe you can have the time to stay home, raise your kids, and play darkfall.
By the way I have got my character up without any afk grinding. The new meditation system gets you up to a level that lets you compete in a fairly short amount of time. "I am not in a server with Gankers...THEY ARE IN A SERVER WITH ME!!!" |
