The names are reserved "globally", but they have stated they have virtual servers. |

This is definitely a buy for me, I would say your not a true mmo player if you dont at least give TSW a shot but after the AOC debacle Im not sure that statement hold true. To be honest I was hoping for nill instancing in this game but that obvisouly isnt happening, even so its a AAA mmo and I would never call my self a MMO fan again if I didnt buy this game. Im looking forward to the theme, setting, story and adventure the most also the errieness of the game looks nice. Although Im strickly a Horror movie watcher and fan, this game caters more to me which also adds to me 100% giving this game a go. From what Iv read, ppl seem to think the pvp isnt going to be much, the pvp I seen looked very interesting though and I was thrilled they had something that looked so appealing in the previews. I think this game is going to be heavilly instanced though just in case anyone is wondering about that. This game excites me the most this year, Im always looking to read something new about this but there never is much besides those silly shity email newsletters I hate.

Im somewhat interested in this game. But its really hard for me to sing the tune and put down money for pre-order when there is such a small amount of footage for this game. It worries me that it is so under wraps and they still want to get people to pre-order it. And getting a lifetime sub, that is just ludacris in my mind... |

lol i guess ill take the leap of faith...im hoping the lessons of AO and AoC. I sometimes wish i wasnt leap headfirst sort of guy, but meh its just money and time both of which i have a little to waste. lots of time and enought for a game sub in money. Cant afford the lifetime currently
of course if it does turn out to be attrocious..well..then that would be me getting burn three times by them. I hate thinking like this but this is the last straw for me for them. Yes all their games got better later on but damn I so wanna see a good polished game from them No matter how cynical you become, its never enough to keep up - Lily Tomlin |

Originally posted by apocoluster I kinda figured. I'm just not into paying that kind of money for shallow games anymore. The game obviously could be very cool but I don't see the depth. That's pretty common these days, pretty packages with crap inside. "Censorship is never over for those who have experienced it. Agree with previous posters that the website is slick but really lacking any depth of information.
There is much talk of "progression" yet almost nothing that says how progression occurs. There is a grand story, yet it never really says how the story unfolds. It doesn't mention quests, but it does mention tasks for your faction. And the trailers mention massive PvP but the website says nothing about it.
Also, I noticed the pre-order deal expires 10/1/2012 so I presume that is their target go live/launch date.
I'm confused yet curious. I may go the pre-order/cancel if it sucks route like others.
Edit: Found this link about progression. |

Originally posted by Zekiah Let's be objective about it: if WoW or LotrO came out now, and people would look purely at the feature list, then a lot would be indifferent about what 'endgame' features they had and not give much for their longevity, just like that of many other MMO's. Yet still many MMO gamers played those games for months to years: purely leveling alts, doing dungeons, doing some crafting/auction house, PvP, hanging out with friends, and in general just fooling around while having fun. That's it. That's what was possible in those games and which kept millions of MMO gamers entertained for years. If that's not something you personally like, well, enough other MMO gamers did and still do.
TSW doesn't know a level cap, because it has no levels. So what you will do is explore zones, gain skills, experiment with builds, experiment with crafting, do dungeons, do Missions, solve Investigation Missions, work on your faction status, pvp, all this right from the start, and that won't change. If those are activities you don't like, or you don't like TSW because of Funcom or AoC or because you don't like the modern day setting, this game may not be for you. If those are activities that appeal to you in the setting and ingame mechanics that TSW offers, well, then it's worth a try. |

Originally posted by Ankur Guildwars is a rare breed, now that I think about it, it feeds so much off of non payment subscription, at least the first game, its what made the game a huge sucess. People didnt have to worry about subs, so there always people in the world. More so it feeds off of the games that have subs and are strugling to stay afloat, thats what makes it a game worth even turning on for lots of people. Im not so sure TSW will work out just like that since u have to start a new subscription if u want to come back.

Originally posted by eycel Subscription is irrelevant if you are having fun with a game. I doubt people with good jobs make such a big deal about 15 bucks a month. Two time coffee costs more. If you are not enjoying the game why would you want to renew your sub anyways? |

It seems that whoever pre-orders directly from Funcom gets the cat. The Wolf and Hound are given out by different retailers in each territory. Personally I don't mind, I like the cat.
Also from Tarib regarding lifetime: "The Grand Master Pack will stay available also after launch of the game for those who decide to go lifetime later on." |
