Alright, I have been playing EVE on & off for something in the region of 3-4 years now. Recent fanfest has got me all hot and bothered about EVE again and I decided to re-sub. My corp filled with RL friends I used to run missions and do veldspar mining expidtions with is now completely empty. I think I am ready to expand my horizons a bit. Kinda reluctant to leave my Carebear-ing ways since I invested so much into optomizing my now Navy Raven & missile implant set and can make pretty decent ISK speeding through L4s. I guess jump-cloning is always an option but alas... So from here with 43m SP under my bealt, little to no PVP experience, where can I go from here? I have basically maxed out every missile, shield, & sub-cap Caldari hull and don't know what to do next short of rolling a new toon to try something different while keeping my main income earner isolated from anything new I try. Any recommendations on where I should go from here? |

So many options, but you know that.
Skill wise, when I maxed out everything sub-cap Caldari missile boats I then moved to maxing hybrids so I can t2 fit a Rokh. This naturally lead to training up Gallente as well.
If you want to stick with PvE I'd say look for a corp running Incursions. I know a good group of guys that are currently recruiting for that, mainly active PST evenings. Send me a pm and I'll let you know who though I don't think they are really looking for missile boats though :/
If you want to try PvP then get yourself a implant less jump clone and join up with RvB or FW, hop in a cheap t1 fit frig and learn the ropes! You'll need to find a corp if you go the FW route. Well, you always need a corp imo but RvB is two corps on a perma wardec. Cross training into frig hulls and their needed weapon systems isn't that bad so you don't have to be pigeon holed into a kestrel (although she's one of my favorite ships). Again, mentioning hybrids as an easy jump since they compliment your Caldari ships already then it's an easy few days to Gallente Frig V.

Loot-stealing, ninja-salvaging, spying.. just felt like adding to the list of your possibilities. :p
I think your main problem will be to convince yourself to play for fun/hour instead of isk/hour. Just get the ISK out of your head, maan. You may earn money with non-carebear activities, but that's not supposed to be the goal. |

Have you thought about wormhole space? With all those shield and missile skills you should be able to jump into a Tengu relatively quick and start learning a whole new side of PvE. Incursions were fun for a bit and offer tons of ISK but recently they remind me too much of elitist wow guilds who make achivement and gearscore requirements. www.agonysend.org |

I was thinking something similar. I should have my subsystem skills maxed out in 10 days or so and a Tengu is so versitile even if I don't do Wormholes I can probably find other applications for it. I know one person who prefers it over a Navy Raven in running L4s 0.o;; That being said I did end up branching out of Caldari for a while. For the longest while I liked how Aamar ships looked and dreamed of flying a Nightmare so I have a very respectable level of gunnery skills. Most of it is in lasers but I got most of the support skills to IV or V. Definately the hardest part of this transition will be what MordragMO brought up. I keep thinking of activities in terms of ISK/hr which is totally the wrong mindset of I am looking to have some fun. |
