Awesome huh!   They changed it to were you get that awesome charm in you`re main city know. Were ever you`re race starts out at the charm is there once you hit level 10.  You have to look for the kamolott NPC in you`re races main city.

I found this out last night, i thought i missed the char,m but i joind a guild and they told me about it,  so have fun and get the sub if you have not.  No need to start at the isle anymore!!!

Yeah but they still get the best starting armour on the isle,their is no other armour in each races starting area that matches it.Hopefully they will update the armour you get on the isle for each starting area.

Vanguard has 15 starting area or something close to that number,they will just stay dead if they dont update the quests rewards.

The armor is not a big deal to be honest, you get way better armor from just hunting and from quest. I did very well and rarely died. Just saying hehe thought it was cool

The issue with no matching armor is quite easy for the newbie. Just buy some cosmetic armour :) My level 8 cleric looks really bad even thou I begun her journey at the race starting area

Hehe aye, mine did look a little bad until i found out about that. I got some nice looking armor and a cloak and its awesome thus far.

No you dont lol,From level 1 to the first hunters league item which is around 15ish and the Thestra armour which is harder to get,the IOD armour cannot be matched.

Lol,it's not about how you look it's about the stats on the IOD armour,they cannot be matched until mid teens.

Not a biggie for me as a player. Its not the gear that is important for me- its how I get the gear. 

And the IOD quest chain is rather boring, after have done it a couple of times so I pass that gladly.

You grow out of that armor pretty qwikly and never saw it as a reason to do the isle...

  The Isle is the worst reprsentation of Vanguard starting areas there is IMO .. all the others are much better in immersion ,lore ,ambience and quest lines..

   Isle is worthless IMO......

Yeah i dont like the isle,i done it on one character but all i'm am saying is it has the best armour from level 1-15,the chest and legs are probably a few levels more.

No one is saying that the other starting areas are not better,read the whole thread please.

If they can bring the armour rewards to each starting area then you no longer need the isle,that was my point.

Up until this charm change the isle had one of the best items in the game,worthless my ass.

NP..i agree with ya,the isle is boring,if they can make the rwards for each starting area  the same as the isles armour then even better.I think they are going to update items anyway.

My favorite starting area is Dahknarg,the music and the indian spritual feel to the place and quests are actually epic.It's also in a far flung corner of the world,you really feel  miles away from anywhere.Before the riftways you really set off on a massive adventure to reach qalia and other parts of the world.

Off topic, are you guys noticing an increase in population with the F2P possiblities coming?

Aye i have, the guild i am in just got 7 new players and there leveling pretty fast,  thou we all got into a brotherhood so that helped.  Some are from euro also.  And the isle are packed from what i seen yesterday.

That's the problem...You'll meet new people to do things, but once you hit around the 30's thats where you'll realize the people you were playing with before dont play anymore. You're stuck soloing ALOT of the time during the 30's-40's area. Even when you're in a guild it feels lifeless as everyone is doing their own thing.

Has there been any game that has actually done worse when making the switch from P2P to a F2P hybrid?  I know Fallen Earth and STO were both on their last legs and F2P brought them back and both are doing pretty good now.

None of those titles are this old. None of those titles had less than 400 people online before going F2P

F2P also largely worked for those two titles because it gave people a chance to try them, which were previously on the fence. Vanguard has already been tried and rejected by the MMO community. Making it F2P won't make it a better game. Just a free one
