 No it's all assumptions. One guy claiming Anet has changed it's statement regarding the CS even though Anet has stated that the CS as it stands isn't final and they are still working on it. Another guy claims their QQ is for the good of the game because look, they are already making changes thanx to us. The CS items are not final and they have only really changed statements when they have had to clarify something in part to tall the drama queens that claim doom and gloom when they over analyse what was actually said. Anet has been pretty open about the whole process so it's really funny to see claims of shadiness and PR damage control.

What breaks the economy is the scale to which it happens.

In games where it's bannable, many "honest" people stay that way.
Where it's acceptable..many many more are doing it and make the problme all the worse.

What if all the items in the cash shop were soulbound in theory?  But you could still get those same items through an expansion?  If the cash shop items were all soulbound the access fee to get in the game will deter gold buyers from the legit stepping stone ladder we discussed earlier.  Will it deter them from still selling items and gold out of game?  No, but that access fee will deter alot more people than if it was free to play.  Does it make sense now that either the developer is double dipping its customers or trying to maintain power & connectivity of the servers for everyones benefit?  Yes, but that is assuming the game will have expansions in regards to double dipping.  If the game is going to have expansions there is really no need for some of the items in the cash shop.  Which way that meter sways in that  last question only they know.  Are they going to make it right?  I would go out on a limb and say yes!  If they already dropped the reoccuring fee concept, since it is double dipping to a degree regardless if the game has an agreement or not, you can have alittle faith they are trying their hardest to make it right for all players.  They know this is their bread maker, and if they don't get it right they will be living at home with their parents or working at Wal-Mart like the rest of us.  They won't screw it up. Lets hope not? o.O

LOL how far Anet and its followers have fallen.  It has been amusing how the arguments supporting the cash shop have evolved as it has become more and more crass and pay2win with each new leak and each new "slight modification to our manifesto."  At first many denied it, but now the argument has moved on to "Well you can't stop pay2win anyway so might as well have Anet profit off it!"

Another once respected game developer has gone down.  Very sad actually...

Cash shop in and of itself is okay. Developers and publishers are, contrary to popular opinion, allowed to make money.

Voting with your wallet is exactly what doesn't work.  The cash shop method of wringing money from players is proven.  The only thing that could keep it fair is the principle of fairness, not profits.   Telling people to go play something else is idiotic and crops up in every mmo forum and is the sign of a fanboy, don't be one.
