Simple minded fools. The whole ME3 ending kerfuffle was an EA/Bioware masterminded plot (when combinded with the dissapointment of SWTOR) to once and for all break the will and crush the spirit of their fans, so they could be turned into a cringing mass of mindless slaves. The whole cupcakes malarky was just the first test, and these guys played right into EA/Bioware's  hands.

I'm sure right now that sending cupcakes seems quite amusing, but I wonder how these indoctrinated morons will feel when the next batch of subliminal suggestions go out and they find themselves packing up all their wealth, wives, girlfriends, and first born children.

Haha, imagine that ...

*puts his salty lick block & horseshoes in a box and ships it to Austin*

I wonder if they'll add those 400 cupcakes on their quarterly balance, though ...

Unrelated Pic for Sylvarii <3 :

" Though SWTOR didn't meet quarterly expectations, and Mass Effect 3 sales will taper off shortly.. if you look at this chart, you can see we've received a net profit of 402 cupcakes, which will drastically cut our confectionary spending next quarter resulting in a happy John Riccitiello".

LOL!! You know, this could revolutionize the entire video game industry. Hell even the entire world economy. We could call it the Pastry Standard.

"All your cupcake, are now belong to us."

"Gypsies, tramps, and thieves, we were called by the Admin of the site . . . "

The people at Bioware Edmonton got a large, tasty delivery today. The 402 cupcakes that were ordered earlier this week as part of a fan protest have finally been delivered.

The photos were sent to Game Informer this afternoon courtesy of Fuss Cupcakes, the bakery that made and delivered the order. They are lettered A, B, and C to poke fun at Casey Hudson's comments about Mass Effect 3's endings. "It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C…The endings have a lot more sophistication and variety in them.”

Notes from contributors were also made with the delivery.

Community manager Chris Priestly posted the following statement on BioWare's forums:

Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided that rather than passing  out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day. Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.

Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.

The first thing that went through my mind reading the OP was "Wow, some idiots just can't give their money to Bioware fast enough..."  Personally, I think the "Thank you sir, may I have another?!" attitude is everything wrong with today's gaming culture, but it is what it is and nothing anybody does is going to stop it.  :(

I do have to admit though, the creativity is worth major bonus points.  :)

to me, this is BW's way of saying...

"if you want to donate to something, donate to a charitable need, rather than act like a sniveling, spoiled child that did not get the x-mas present they asked for."

this 'act' disgusted me, because it shows how self-centered and self-entitled people can be.

people who complain so much about 'VIDEO GAMES' need to take a good look outside, and see the world they live in.

Seems to me Bioware couldn't take it so they did the equivalent of throwing it away but in such a way they could appear to be doing good.

They were too immature and arrogant themselves to eat something that while sweet and delicious was too obviously crow as well.  They just re-gifted it, out of sight out of mind.

Its actually quite rude.

I've learnt that any act, however benign or benevolent or simply business-as-usual, can be explained away as something ugly or evil if people are of a determined enough mindset to do so.

It seems angry Mass Effect 3 fans still want to protest the game's endings. This time they're sending the studio hundreds of cupcakes.
A user on the BioWare forums quickly organized a donation pool of over $1,000 and made a massive order of approximately 402 cupcakes from a local bakery near BioWare's Edmonton studio. "As fans, we want Bioware to do right by us, and fix the endings for Mass Effect 3. But we also want to let Bioware know, that we trust them, and have faith in them.
"Bioware has been slammed by negativity from all sides in the last few weeks. This is our way, as fans, to drive our message home, but in a (literally) sweet way. We want Bioware to add some more 'sweet' to their 'bittersweet' ending. What better way to do this than with CUPCAKES :-D."
The order has been placed and the invoice as proof was posted online (see below). The cupcakes are colored Red, Blue and Green and labeled A, B or C as a dig at executive produce Casey Hudson's statements where he said, “It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C…The endings have a lot more sophistication and variety in them.”

Kind of brutal to pass them to homeless kids when there is such a high probablity that they have been poisoned.

Eh, I think it's a sweet way of saying that they'd like the endings to have been more varied.

If you have played the game, you know why.

BW opened Pandora's Box on this game as they make use of a real life dynamic that games, inherently, don't make use of:

"You can't win them all"

Of course, that's a fairly blithe way of putting it when used to describe the endings...

For my part,  I think they did a good job overall. I would have liked a 4th ending added for players but only made available on completing Insanity difficulty.

Couple of things boggle the mind for me in this issue though:

That BW has apparently gotten the hint and is doing something about it in the form of  DLC's, thereby altering the artistic narrative. This is a nasty catch-22 in my opinion. Stephen King didn't go back and do a re-write on the last book of The Dark Tower series and would have loved to hear the response to the person that asked him to.

That those in opposition of the endings have managed to raise tens of thousands of dollars to protest a game. We have people starving in industialized nations (let alone third world countries) across the world, but players can scrape together the cash to protest a game?

If Stephen king had the ability to update his book for everyone that bought it, would he have?

The answer doesn't really matter though as the creator can do w/e he/she wants. (Hi George Lucas! HAN SHOT FIRST!)

That is true.  And vice versa.

But in general re-gifting, even to charity is an act of rudeness unless the gifter explicitly tells you its OK.  I don't need to politican it up to make it appear that way.

Alot of Stpehen King's books have bad endings I could list 10 that do.  Even if he could update them you might still just get another bad ending mostly likely involving aliens.

People starving due to overpopulation and unneeded offspring when there should of been a healthy donation of birth control and sterilization methods going on instead of food. I believe it is the same thing happening here as well with the US. But my stance remains the same as well for here/

I hear this a lot when people are discussing the ME3 ending, that the ending should stay the same because of it's artistic vision or somesuch. While I could go into my reasons for disagreeing with that, I think an article on Gamefront says it a lot better than I could:
