They actually do. SWG fanboys are annoyingly persistent. On a side note, a lot of us out there feel that SWTOR captures some of our favorite elements of Star Wars, whereas SWG missed the mark.

 

Well it certainly captured the moments before the iconic sunset on Tatooine, shame you never get to watch it actually set though.

seems improbable. SWG was fail, low pop, and degenerate. How can there be enough SWG players out there to have posted on the WoW forums? Why would they ask for features that we are told repeatedly have no place in today's MMOs?

NGE, LOTRO, STO, KOTOR, Lego Star Wars > NGE 2 (SWTOR). SWG>ALL. Above hopefully subject to change.

Player Cities probably won't happen in SWTOR with its design unless they add planets which are more open, like reverse of Kash and Musty in SWG.

Crafting could do with enhancement, perhaps making resources have varying qualities. The current crop is standard / lowest but then if updated, could get better quality resources, and the quality varies every other week.

What would keep me hooked is some form of CH/BE or BM, especially the BE side - Beast Crafting / Cloning. In SWTOR we could create companions instead of beasts perhaps, unless they add some of Beast Master. No other MMO, that I know of, has any kind of BE.

STO, is better for companions IMO, and loads of MMOs have Beast Master, but now not SWTOR

Yeah I don't see the player cities happening either, but man would that be good. I'm trying to imagine the furor: Why did they make housing in the world itself? Now I have to decorate my house or it looks empty, and I have to see other players because their house is near my house!  Granted SWG should have packed up houses more aggressively, but it was still cool to have houses.

Yeah even having randomized/shifting quality on existing materials would be enough to make me love crafting as long as it affected the end product. Right now you are basically just putting together identical mats for identical output. It's lame.

Your BM/create a companion idea is freaking awesome.

You guys realize there are sandbox games out there for you to play right now.

You don't HAVE to play TOR. In fact, if you want sandbox features you probably shouldn't.

Bioware is not going to change their game that has mass market appeal into a game that doesn't. There will be no reverse NGE. You should just move on now and forget about it.

Actualy, I just followed you link tothe official forums and looked through about 15 pages of threads.

I only saw ONE "SWG" feature requested and it was housing, which isn't just a SWG feature.

I saw plenty of threads askin for improvements to existing systems. I don't see this outcry for SWG 2 that you claim exists.

Actually the trend I'm seeing is the mass of the market is wanting some sandy features in the game. You pure VO themepark guys are becoming the nitche not anything at all sandboxy.

 

Themepark can only take you so far before "humm done that 100 times, what else is there? Humm nothing". BioEA is going to have to something different if they want to continue.

The threads move down with frequency of posts my man. You would have to do some reading because threads tend to wander, but the features are there in the posts. I spend time reading them so I didn't make the OP until I had seen it quite a bit. The following is a list off the top of my head:

Day/Night cycle

Player Housing

Multi Person speeders

Open Space

Open Worlds

Random Mobs

In Depth Crafting (SWG was mentioned several times by posters)

Entertainment Buffs

Multi World PvP ala GCW

etc.

These are some really good suggestions I noticed a couple days ago when I was playing that it never grew dark. LOL.

Also I would suggest adding random treasure chests to the worlds or lockers or whatever they are calling them. You fight these elites without any real rewards. I expect at least some type of chest in the area.

These are some really good suggestions I noticed a couple days ago when I was playing that it never grew dark. LOL.

Also I would suggest adding random treasure chests to the worlds or lockers or whatever they are calling them. You fight these elites without any real rewards. I expect at least some type of chest in the area. 

 

According to those on the the SWTOR forums, having day/night would have broken the immersion of the game.

I'm still scratching my head over that one.

 

Yeah, apparently, having the NPCs in a city in the same place both day and night is more immersion breaking than having no day or night at all.

There are, all over the place.  Often there are elites guarding them, but not always, and you will will not always find a chest behind an elite.

Are you trying to say that everyone who enjoys SWTOR is trying to claim this?  I think a better way to say it "according to a FEW on the SWTOR forums".  Lack a day/night cycle is one of my biggest issues with the game.

I didn't follow the topic for days, just read what was there, seemed to be 50/50 but it wasn't a new thread and sometimes you miss context if you haven't seen the other threads around that time, so it may not be representative of their usual balance.

I've been watching this game very closely, they are adopting many many features from SWG. A lot for other games and their own ideas too but if you follow the forum, it has a majority of SWG players both pre and post NGE. 

 

I'll be in on the testing that starts in June so my  jury is still out but this is a very promising mix of themepark,  complex crafting, player run ecconomy, player run houseing and cities, ohh and no prefab Pillsberry profession system.
