No vote. I won't spend ANY money in a game that has a cash shop that I don't approve of. |

Originally posted by Suraknar I was talking about The Secret World, last I heard, they were going to have a sub fee. And a cash shop. And a box fee. So I'm interested to see if they can show restraint with the cash shop, since they're already getting $15/mo from players as it is. |

Originally, they stated the cash shop would only include items that were purely cosmetic in nature. Armor sets with neat aesthetics that you could transmute onto your standard gear. Dye boxes that would give you random dye colors. Extra character slots and bank space. Things that didn't grant players any advantages over other players. If this were still the case, I would spend $10-15 a month to support ArenaNet's innovative game. This has been my plan since the payment model was announced. However, due to the sheer amount of advantage-granting items on the cash shop (I call them pay to cheat items), I will not be buying anything from the cash shop and I may even skip the game entirely. I can't stand the thought of people gaining advantages in the game over other players by spending real-life money in a developer-run shop, no matter the size of the bonus. I don't care if it's 10% more experience or 1% more experience, bending the rules of the game for people willing to shell out the extra money is cheating and unethical in my eyes. There's more, but the rest is unknown and I don't want to get spanked by the moderators for violating the NDA (even though I'm not a beta tester and never signed it). Edit: Whoever messaged me, I couldn't write you back for some reason. I don't have access to the beta forums. Why? Edit 2: Most of this information is available (or was as of last week) on GW2guru.com. If you don't believe me, look for it there. |

I will spend money at or below $15 as I see that as the average a sub. user pays per month. As another suer stated I would get the bank slots, characters slots and any armor that I thought looked good. From what I read you might need more than one armor set depending on your traits and play style so would at least always have one set that was earned in the dungeons. If Arena Net makes a great game I want to support them in guild wars 1 I felt they gave a lot to the community in terms of holiday events, quest leaning to gw2 and the like so would want to keep that trend in GW2. |

I don't want to drag the entire forum off topic but do you have a source that states keys can only be purchase and not found in game? Also the scrolls that give you 10% damage increase or reduced damage. Not questioning your opinion on the cash shop but just wanted to know if the chest statement was fact or not. |

An approvable CS means there is a chance of me spending anything at all. If any items are temporary, to say the least, they get nothing from me. I started spending money in games like SMT and DFO when the market shifted to permanent items... but then I lost interest in the games all together, thusly leading to regret. Though, there has been plenty of sub games I bought 3 months of and never played. Yet, I still regret the 5-10$ spent in F2P games more. Strange, no? Originally posted by Suraknar I get the feeling that it's stuff like this that led to there being an NDA for this phase. When it drops I'm sure we'll hear all about the stuff on the shop (I didn't get to see everything myself) and hopefully all the pay to cheat stuff goes out the window. I really want to play this game but I don't think I can bring myself to give a red cent to a company that has ruinous crap on their cash shop. I'd be playing a freemium Asian MMO if I liked doing that kind of stuff. |

i will spend the same. if there are things i dont like in the CS i will not buy them. but at some point i may buy a character slot, maybe some mini's, and maybe some armor skins. the thing is Anet needs to make money off the shop. so all these people saying they wont buy anything is not helping. they will tinker with the shop until they feel they are making enough profit from it. the problem is getting 1mil-3mil or more people to agree on everything is going to be impossible. they wont be able to please everyone. imo is it inevitable that the out-cry's for those that oppose whatever may or may not be in the shop will never stop. |

seriously, your complaining that someone is going to get through the game just a little faster than you because they spent money. your sounding alot like those WoW neckbeards who have some kinda of superiority complex, and do so by spending all their time raiding to get the best gear. this game is about skill not grinding to get the best stats. this game has no gear treadmill, their is no way to be better than someone by having more time to spend. your complaints are unfounded and rediculous. so what if someone levels a tiny bit faster or gets a bit more karma, if you play more your bound to be more skillful at the game and will bulldoze them anyways.

I would never stoop so low to spend money in a CS. I will not give a company free money for no services rendered. |
