Originally posted by Sector13 I'm glad I didn't list off my Pros then... So you are saying if a list has more pros than cons the list is Bias? There is no way the thing that is being listed could have more pro's than cons? How exactly do you "weigh" pros and cons then? Or are all lists bias? |

Personally I think this game is socks; slightly dirty, slightly smelly socks. |

I don't think people understand a lot about the combat system other than it's free aim. Even the "standard" attacks cycle through statistically different attacks that reset if an internal clock runs out or an ability is used. There's another draw to this game: skill on the keyboard side.
Just not worth my time anymore. |

I still at post where people just say the game suck w/o any reason even though the OP specificly asked for reasons -.- @OP It depends on the type of gamer you are. Do you perfer more old school mmorpg or new mmorpg? The bases structure of Tera is framed around old school mmorpg with action combat. You go from quest to quest to lvl it fairly linear at the start does open up a bit more half way through. In the older games quest are means to an end, heck most older game are almost pure grind so Tera is lot easier in term of lvling compare to them. Also its factionless and open world PvP, so it focs on player created content. End game content wise Tera focs on 5-man raid and rest is all player "made" content through political system and open world pvp. Newer games type like WoW, all its clones, rift, swtor, and (maybe gw2? idk what we put gw2 under really till we see it) But they focus a lot more none linear path ways (aka mutli starting zone multi lvling zones) fast pace lvling, faction based pvp, and kinda arena heavy and end game focus on 20ish man raids. To some people they say Tera quest sucks and crafting is just a money sink, and seriously these are really the only 2 legit fault with the game from a design prospective (not personal taste) (o ya also pvp lvl scale need fixing but its a nonissue once your cap) to me its not an issue. I personally came from monster grind center games where having quest is nice. So i personally have no problem with linear quest because i don't give a damn about it, its only a means to an end. and crafting its meh. So if you like the older type of game and really don't give a damn about linear quest Tera will be fun for you but if you care a lot of about quests and how they are well i really won't suggest you play mmorpg, coz playing mmorpg for quest is idk meh coz its always going to be subpar compare to single player. Originally posted by Sector13 That would be a personal choice, to me Tera combat beats all the current mmorpgs including DN and Vindictus and to others it don't. |

For all you B2P fanbois out there, remember that TERA is implementing Chronoscrolls which are $15 and equate to 30 days of game time. These scrolls are tradable IN GAME. Don't wanna sub, then get in game gold and never use RL currency... |

Originally posted by Sector13 Open world is a feature after all Diablo, Vindictus, C9 and a lot of other games don't have it. Combat "has been done better" is an opinion, one that you don't even back up with names of other games or any actual facts or data as to where you came to that conclusion. Aion had the "same" group content? What does that even mean? For one this game's grouping is VERY different from any game I've played, and for two why is it more like Aion's grouping than any other? I had to aim to heal people in this game, and actually pay attention to the giant MONSTER not just HP bars as a healer, VERY exciting game to play as a healer.... very refreshing difference. I'm tired of staring at HP bars. |

I was all up for tera even played on the Korean servers but at the end of the day its just another cookie cutter MMO with a better combat system.. If you like themepark games and if you want somthing a big different with a better combat system then yeah give tera a shot.. |

Originally posted by Laughing-man If you seriously think that those are the only cons of the game then yes I consider it bias. It's not about the amount of cons to pros, it's skipping over obvious flaws in the game cause they don't bother you as much as it might bother someone else. |

Originally posted by Caldrin Well ya its a themepark mmorpg, no one said it was going to be sand box.... what do you expect beside themepark stuff? Originally posted by Sector13 Well its hard to give a complete list because everyoen view things differently, what you think of con might be pro and pro might be con. There will never be a universial list for these kind of things. |

Originally posted by Sector13 Yet you don't provide any details or information, you off handedly dismiss anyones claims and say they are outright bias or lies. This just further discounts your opinion as you still cannot provide ANY details on why you don't like it or what FEATURES you detest. It just as bad as saying it SUUUUCK's it does not mater how many "U's you add in, this tells us, and the OP literally NOTHING about the game, why you don't like it, or why we should consider anything you have to say to be taken seriously. |

Originally posted by Sector13 Feature 1. a prominent or conspicuous part or characteristic
A Characteristic of this game is that it has an open world. Other games, like C9 and Diablo 3, Don't. This is why its a feature. I'm sorry if you can't understand that. Edit: Again you provide no info, and resort to name calling, further devaluing your opinion. |

Originally posted by Laughing-man Sector is an oddly cynical fellow who also has a hard time accepting that people might like something he does not. He gets a majority of his posts in this board trying to convince people who like the game it is not as good as they think.
I find him very odd, try to take his posts with a grain of salt. |

Thats been my problem in the past..coming from wow (old school 2004-7 was far superior..h8 wotlk/cata). I lasted 7 yrs on and off in wow so its harder for me to get into a new mmo. WOW is polished as a piece of mmo software so rift and age of conan never stood a chance. If my first mmo was lets say ultima online it would be easier to think SWTOR was brilliant. Im not die hard wow by any means but expect a playable intersting product to subscribe too. The only other games i was hooked between 2005 and now were company of heroes and world of tanks. I need a new MMO to make life more interesting and i wont being going back to the wow pandas thats for sure. The curse of wow will live with me forever, comparing every game to it. Blizzard must have put subliminal messages in it telling me to h8 all other mmos.

Sector, I'm not going to argue the details of why TERA combat is better, whether an open world is a "feature" or whether Aion has overland group content (which it does and is awesome).
I wanted to thank you for pointing out why I want to play TERA: The features are all in one game. Just not worth my time anymore. |
