True though there are PvE servers as well. The MMO landscape changes with every new title or one that goes F2P. As it stands now I think TERA will have a suprising amount of sales early, drop a bit when GW2 comes out but then pop back up once people have had their fill of GW2. This is assuming that while this is going on TERA continues to be run solidly. At NA launch it should be pretty content packed but they'll have to keep it up to contend.
People do get very picky about 15.00, this is true. In the end that 15.00, if used correctly by the company taking it, will give you so much more over time. 15.00 is such a small price to pay for a months worth of entertainment yet people act as though it's a second mortgage hehe. Just not worth my time anymore. |

I just need that TERA have a political system, where gives some meaning to pvp, to make this game my new home. If i like the political system, i dont care about any other games for awhile.

I'm in. Looking forward to friday 12 noon lots actually. I missed the early days of MMOs. My first experience was less than 10 hours of Asherons Call at a cousins house long ago. Since then only Phantasy Star gave me a really good experience. I even missed vanilla WoWs experience and only started right before WotLK on BC, which was decent. Since SWTOR didn't really capture the early days, I'm looking forward to this game and GW2 launches. I actually have time to enjoy some MMO launches. I think TERA and GW2 are good choices after my first dispointment of a laucnh akin to Star Wars. Hehe. It could have been Star Wars, yet the laughter I've gotten from paradies about that game (TORtanic) was worth being apart of the game. |

I believe it'll stabilize with 100-150k subs after 3 months. It is a niche game and their marketing department is horrible, but it has gotten the attention of a good number of pvp guilds. The combat system has me hooked, TERA has taken raised the bar for amount twitch skill required in an mmo game, and I don't think I could ever play a tab targeting mmo again. Ironically, the same combat system which has many people hooked will deter a lot of ppl from the game because it's "hard" or "different." If BHS can ramp up the pvp experience in the game, I'll be subbing for years to come. |

Drop everything, maplestory 2 is going in to development!!! Drop everything and wait 3-5years+ for it to come out!!
Ok joke over =X now on topic, it will be niche personally i think its a good thing at least that mean the game is more tailor made to toward the player than toward so many players that they can do nothing but focus on the casual player which is usally the largest group least effected by the game. |

Originally posted by Yellowbeardd WoW like graphics O.O.... i might suggest seeing a eye doctor because its like the polar oppoiste in term of art style and graphics o.o WoW is extremely westernized cartoon/comic while Tera is completely Asian anime style o.o Lot of reason Tera is a niche because its graphic/art differs so greatly from western game like WoW/Rift/SWTOR. |

Originally posted by grapevine there is nothing wrong with niche games, look at Eve online. best example of a niche game, that does better than most so called mainstream MMO. all of the so called mainstream MMO coming up, offer very little as far innovation goes. they are simply been overwhyped day by day constantly by people who will feel very but very dissapointed at the end. Tera is more than capable of attracting all sort of players, ( for instance i hate Anime myself,) but i love Tera, i consider myself a veteran MMO player , since i've been playing MMO since Eq1 . i assure you there are lots of other people who feel the same. all of the big so called mainstream MMO started out with too many promises, they all sounded great at first, they all were to become the next holy grail of the mmo genre, and they all turned to a massive let down. beware of setting your expectations too high with the so called mainstream MMO. or you risk turking yourself into a money milking cow.

Originally posted by rexzshadow Mabinogi 2 is further in development and is suppose to be an open world action combat MMO. They claimed during really early development that it's suppose to be an open world Vindictus which I would rather have over TERA if they can pull it off. |

Tera will be a niche game for sure. The biggest problem Tera has is that you can't be a clicker and a keyboard turner and play the game. So that eliminates about 90% of potential MMO gamers. I see Tera selling very well, maybe in the range of around 400k copies, maybe more, and then settling out at around 100-200k subs in NA. Which I think will be a success in the eyes of EME and BHS. Don't need WoW numbers to make money in the MMO market. Shit EQ was the hottest game of the time and spawned the MMO market as we know it. EQ maxed out I think at about 600k worldwide. Like others have said, I can't play the tab target MMOs anymore at all. I had to redownload Eve just so I can get my MMO fix until Tera comes out. |

Originally posted by Sector13 Hopefuly ranged class isn't broken overpowered like Mabinogi, although i think Mabinogi had the closest thing to action combat before DN and vindcitus. It was set to have action combat but excuted with targeting which ended up with the werid combat that is mabinogi lol. Man that game was werid. Hope Mabinogi 2 is good. And idk how open world with vindictus would, with everyone doing those thing is asking for massive lag and extremely....werid pvp lol. I mean put in rooms ya but open world when you have tons of people that thing is going to turn crazy fast but looking forward to it. |

Originally posted by brac777 What kind of excuse is that? The idea that TERA wont do well cause it's an action style game when that's it's main draw to the game is probably the stupidest thing I've heard about this game. Even so, you're still wrong cause the camera doesn't move your character when you're attacking, so you have to turn with the keyboard unless you stop everytime you swing your weapon. |

Originally posted by rexzshadow I doubt there would be world PvP if they went that route. They would most likely do battlegrounds. Also, I doubt it would be seemless openworld for the sake of lag and such, either that or they are just not going to be very flashy type attacks. |

honestly...yes. It will have to put up with a bunch of haters because its an asian mmo, and its attack and dodge mechanics are not that of the normal run of thill MMOs many are used to.
p.s. people can try and call me on that asian mmo thing but if anyone even kept track on this game its already been brought up a lot times about how this game will fail because its another asian grindfest just based on where the game is originating from.
edit: i do think the game would be a bigger success if they lifted the region bans that currently disallow players living in certain countries to play. |

Originally posted by Sector13 True, they would have to instant up each zone/area to prevent lag, but still would still be better than current vindictus and DN. |
