Originally posted by grimfall It's not. GW2 has a non-instanced open world, like other MMOs. There is no "single player"...no MMO has a single player mode, they are by definition "massively multiplayer". Not sure what you're getting at there. |

Biggest worry is that the dynamic events will be tuned sweetly for the early days of the game when the first wave of population is sweeping through, but that they will turn out to be rather less fun a bit further down the line, as the population gets more top-heavy.

Originally posted by Unlight It will be a long time before anyone forgets the "Allods" incident. Especially Allods. But yeah, CS gone P2W and I am out.
Some people seem to be worried about endgame and what has been the traditional model. keep in mind, City of Heroes was a successful MMO and in it's early days there was no gear at all. Yes there was enhancements that you bought, but no gear grind of any kind whatsoever. And also SWG. Yes there was gear and some gear was better than others, But it wasn't about your gear, and even then it was all purchasable and deteriorated. So, yeah, a successful MMO does not have to base it's longevity on gear grinds. |

im worried about the cash shop affecting the in-game economy. if they sell in-game currency for real money, it would have the potential to bork things up pretty bad. |

The original Guild Wars is an excellent example of longevity that is not based on gear-grinding. As long as the game is fun to play, and you give people something to work towards, they'll keep playing. In GW that was titles, and the HoM once it was introduced. In GW2 it will no doubt be titles, achievements, PvP Glory, etc. |

Just a note on the Cash Shop: There will be an official blog post tomorrow on just that, which should clarify things and hopefully put concerns to rest. :) Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz? Start here: Guild Wars 2 Mass Info for the Uninitiated |

Originally posted by brody71 no it won't because the economy will developed around the cash to gold currency. Just as a note unlike other MMO gold is not important to the game. It also has karma which cannot be sold and token you get from instances. Both things will get you pretty much every you need except for marketplace items. |

My biggest worry about GW2 is that when I play it I won't be as excited as I am now thinking about playing it. |

My biggest fear is to have a repeat of what Gpotato did to ALLODS.. Ruined a great game by forced cash shop per each death items and extremely high prices...
I fear the mistakes game developers and publishers have made in the last few years. Rift dumping tons of content ontop of broken content just to add more broken content without fixing the previous broken content.... Others not having enough servers in anticipation of launch. Anet knows that 48 hours = 1mill+ people signing up for beta... Better be ready!!! Not continuing the vision for gamers!!! we miss things like useful master craftsmen and content that will last. am I really worried about GW2, seriously? Nope not at all they have a great track record. |

Don't have any major worries. I really don't mind the cash shop tbh. I can definately see myself cashing out for convinience and good-looks items and knowing that I am supports the devs that much more not to mention it will be the only game I will ever be playing. As for community aspect, all faetures of GW2 promote the community to play together in harmony. GW2 has all the chances of having the best community in any mmorpg to date. As long as they deliver on what is shown in all the gameplay footages released thus far, then I am one happy player :). Just want GW2. |

I wish the community stays like the one in GW1, mostly mature, and wouldnt be invaded by wow kiddos.
About the cash shop worry, Anet will not let anything like that happen, they are building a great game that's why they do not need such lame profit, devs in anet are like us, they hate that kind of cash shop as well. |

The boring/failure .of dynamic events
" go kill 10 centaurs! ", "good! Now another group is coming! Go kill 20 more Centaurus! ". " good! Now there's a lot of rats running around, kill 20 of them! ". ~_~ RIP Orc Choppa |

Cash shop and the growing greed of GW2 Arenanet vs the attitude of GW1 Arenanet. Also, I hope the dynamic events just don't feel like a guild wars 2 scripted version of the It's a small world ride at Disney World. |
