This review is old, but notorious. The guy who wrote it got fired for it and he has sort of become more famous than he has ever been because of it. Having played this game now and attained max level (or whatever you reached in >= 2 months worth of play) would you consider this review accurate, or no longer relevant?
For me, personally, this review was SPOT on. I can imagine that a lot of people would have been put off by it, had it been the official review of this site, so it only makes sense that they wouldn't have wanted it on the front page. The sad thing is that all reviews so far have been grossly positive and nearly fallacious in an effort to boost the score, or worse yet, the scores have been inconsistent with the actual reviews.
So did this guy deserve to lose his job over it, or is this actually an accurate portrayal of how the game actually is?

Some what. It's a great single player game with a chat box. Best "choose" your own adventure story I have played. |

I voted for agree entirely, but do strongly disagree that it is an immersive Star Wars universe.

I agree somewhat. The straw that broke my back, though, was the crafting. When I hit max level and realized that in order to craft the best stuff I would have to go on raids because I would need bind-on-pickup ingredients, I quit. I really like crafting but it completely sucks in SWTOR, sorry to say. I actually do like the game overall though there are other things that bother me. The interface is atrocious, for example, but I can look past most of that. |

For me it just reinforces the notion that "reviews" are closely tied in with advertising dollars. Reviews might not be directly bought but they are paid for. If you move to subvert the system you will quickly be shown the door.
*OMG this site is slow. |

I choose somewhat.. yet leaned towards a 100%' full yes. Pretty stupid he got fired for being honest. The questing was good at first, then it became a road block for me. Slowed down the flow of the game, imo. Too many quests, not the best engine, lack of gaming elements for launch. Lackluster environments except for backdrops, and it was tough feeling like I was playing with others. I think it was the instancing, and how everything seemed so distant. The planets are all apart, everyone had their own ship, moving from planet to planet and having the main hub be a fleet. The scale of the game was sorta off as well. That's my biggest issue, the fleet. Even if they just stuck the GTN and PvP dailey quest terminals in the cantinas, it would have been better. The cantinas should have been the main trading hub on each planet. Also, another idea that I just had. Hutball should have been an arena on 1 planet. No queue for it. Take the first planet where both factions meet, and place the Hutball arena there. Instanced of course from the rest of the planet, yet you walk in.. there is a cantina where you can register for a game. You go up some stairs and look through a window and see the arena. It would have created a way better social feel to the game. Put a GTN there. And of course, with a class call "Bounty Hunters" the lack of placing bounties on other players is rather dull. Yeah everything felt separated. The spaceports were huge with nothing in them... the cantinas where empty and having six flashpoints in one area is meh. Oh well... I never talked about this stuff on the forums when I was subscribed so maybe that's why I'm talking about it now. |

Would somebody like to point out the proof that this guy got fired for this review? I honestly don't remember any of this guy's work before or after the review.
I love how people point out that his was the only "honest" review, simply because it agreed with them. I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil |

A 6/10 is as good as the game deserves, and it's actually my preferred MMO of the moment. lol I doubt he got fired simply for this review... I mean, why would they put at the top that it was all this guy's opinion and then be like "I don't like your opinion, get out"? |

When it comes to someone's review or opinion about an entertainment product such as video games. It tends to be weighted to far left or right. There is no such thing as objective point of view these days. Its of my opinion that when it come to game reviews. The person rewriting the review has a bias and because the reviewer has a bias their opinon is not worth jack. When it comes to gaming. I will never be influenced by their POV. Because in the end my opinion is the only one that matters. |

He was being honest with himself and how he felt. Anyways, I've been reading some reviews that 1.2 is a pretty decent patch. Sounds promising for the game. Just wish 1.2 was 1.0 here. |

Except he didn't get fired for writing the review, he got fired for posting conger that this site paid him for on other sites before it was published here.
Mmorpg paid him for the review, then he was giving it away on other sites before they even published it. He messed up. Any publication would be upset about this. If the New York Time ha one of their writers giving away their content for free, he would be fired. This, I feel, is one of the woefully few, genuine reviews of SWTOR. Re: SWTOR "Remember, remember - Kakk says 'December.'" |

The thing is this was the original review he submitted; it was rejected and deleted, because of it's "lack of advertising". Since MMORPG.com refused to keep it, he put it on other sites.

If it's true...firing a reviewer for giving his honest opinion is lame. |

If he got fired for it he probably got off lightly. |
