Originally posted by Amjoco certainly not OCD and unless you are in your 40-50's I doubt you learned the to, too rule before I was born =P It was driving me nuts because the thread is abviously sorta successful and it on the top of the list so long. Seeing a typo or spelling error once.. twice.. no big deal but seeing it 20-30 times!

Originally posted by ariboersma Sorry for the incorrect title sir. And yes, the age would be correct. Just because I'm old doesn't mean I can't have fun playing games! When they put an age on when I can stop having a good time I'm going back to my english studies! lol Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

Originally posted by gainesvilleg As ridiculous as these new threads are getting. Honestly, I can understand it. And to be perfectly honest, I'm gonna give my opinion that these people making these pretty ridiculous threads don't actually think that (in this case) the cities are too big. It's the anticipation for the game that is having people think up questions to ask the community. Even if it's something as silly as this. People are excited about it, and want to talk about it in any way shape or form. I've posted plenty of times about forum topics that need to be closed or locked or whatever because of either ridiculousness or repetition. But I'm going to stop because lightning has struck my brain with this thread. People are going to talk about their favorite game no matter how solid the game is, whether they are complaining or complimenting the design. The real thread name with these threads should be "Let's talk GW2!". So I'm no longer going to be bashing people's stupid thread titles or topics. Because it's just the excitement of this awsome game nearly upon us that has people struggling to scratch that GW2 itch that is plagueing the MMO community. ....Should have made this a thread topic.... |

statistics show guild wars 2 fans are 90% more likely to make complain about stupid things. Areas too large? Is that really a valid complain before the release of the game? Have you played the game to know if the maps are too big?
Next you gonna get a thread, is guild wars 2 too westernize? Or Reasons why carrying over the lore from guild wars 1, is a horrible idea. |

Originally posted by silvermember No one is complaining. A title is not a complaint. I had a legitimate question hoping someone with the answers could help me with and they did. I hope you can take the time to read my initial question. If you think I was complaining I am sorry. Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

Again: Teleport, running, speed buffs in cities. Why is size a problem again? Everyone has a uniform way to get around large areas. This thread baffles me. |

The best way to travel is by means of imagination. |

I think it's less about time take to travel and more about people being too spread out, at least by what the OP says. That's not an issue either, however, as people tend to gather in certain areas, regardless of the size of the area, and this will undoubtedly be the case here as well. "There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit." — John Parry, to his son Will; "The Subtle Knife," by Phillip Pullman |

Personally I love felling of adventure and exploration. By my opinion its good to have large areas in cities and out door, but it cant be to everybodys liking. Thats why there are going to be waypoints or teleports (if you like) all over the world for people who dont like walking to much.

"lads and lasses , guild meeting in 5 mins. Everybody teleport to the waypoint in the lodge of the Raven in Hoelbrak" How can area size be a social impediment in this game? There are 30 minigames total, 5 per city , each unique. Wont these be social meeting points too? Wont AH and crafting posts fill that role too? And if you want to gather an impromptu force for an event thru a general channel, wouldnt it be much easier to achieve in this game, with the waypoint system et al? Now, if we could only sort out those squarish borders.... |

People who enjoy travelling through the vast world have plenty of open space in which to do so and plenty of Dynamic Events and other content to reward them for their efforts. Those who don't care to spend time traveling to and from particular goals can easily teleport about. It's even great for those of us who usually prefer to hoof it, since it's still easy to quickly join up with friends when the opportunity arises, with out having to worry about extensive travel times. (I don't know anyone who thought it was fun in WoW that sometimes it could take 20+ miutes to get to where your friends were). Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz?
