Originally posted by xenogias With you on this. Honestly, the only reason I will be playing is due to a relative having the annual pass to WoW. I pretty much have the same thought process so I am trying to not get overly excited. Hoping after the content shown in beta that the game really opens up because I found the content in beta to be a bit linear and a bit on the easy side. |

I was so much more excited for this last year, now I don't care all that much. |

I'm already on board with the 1 year WoW promiss for D3 - I got the 1 year WoW specifically to get D3, they can have thier free 1 sub number for thier advertising if they like on WoW - still have a few friends there I can drop in every once ni a while and say hi to. Most MMO players are a very wierd bunch of a people. They think that if game X (say Guild Wars 2) is great then game Y (say Diablo III) can't be great. Most MMO players have the strange need to play only ONE game. They can't even comprehend that you might enjoy two or more games? You can't have 3-4 great RPGs, you can have ONLY ONE 1 great RPG.

Nice, just in time after my work crunch and GW2 release (which will be somewhere during the summer, I predict quite confidently). By this fall I expect to finally have more than one game I can really sink my teeth into... TF2 (jeez, i stil can't get off it), D3 and GW2... and all those without monthly subs and crap. After all those dry years I feel like my "springtime for gaming" is finally coming up... |

Originally posted by Emhster It's unfinished yes, D3 was meant to have the PvP content at launch, they admitted to holding it back and want to release it later. This means unfinished.............
What most would prefer is for launches to not be rushed and for companies to wait until a game is ready(especially one as large as Blizzard that can actually afford to wait) before pushing it out the door.
They are doing this because of GW2 and combine that with them giving D3 away free with a 1 year WoW sub, it is making gamers feel like Blizzard doesn't have much faith or confidence in D3. |

Originally posted by GrayGhost79 It's a PvE game, I'm happy to wait for the PvP while I bash baddies in Inferno, besides, Blizzard is Blizzard, their games would sell even if they were released the same day as GW2. Remember people have been waiting for D3 for around 10 years. I've been playing around with beta for a few weeks, and it IS one of the best games that I've played in a while, and I play a lot of games. |

I am actually shocked you people think it has something to do with Guild Wars 2. For me, personally, this game has to be released. I see investors, "big-ups", and the lot saying enough is enough and release something for crying out loud (in regards to the lack of pvp). I have no doubt this game will be just fine regardless of what everyone considers a "finished" product. This is one of those "must-haves" for me and plan on playing it for a long time...used a buffer between MMO's just like D2 was for me. Guild Wars 2 is also a must have. So much negativity around when we all should be praying for EVERY game to be great instead of waiting for each game to fail (D3 has no chance of failing, sorry guys). |

do we get anything special for preordering off the website? I tried looking for info but it seems like what you get pre-ordering is the same as what you get if you purchase it when it goes live. Originally posted by Horusra Very true. No crappy games have been released by Blizzard. The optimist in me tells me that's a great track record. The pessimist tells me they're due for a lunker. Either way, I'll be buying the game. |

People should calm down about D3 being a incomplete product. Shoot, there are a handful of websites that all show not only beta footage but information too. It's not incomplete, lets just put it like that. You will get a your singleplayer co-op experience your used to with most Diablo games. You just won't get a lot of the newer systems that they wanted to add on top of it. And it was obvious that a release date was coming. Blizzard has always, and even stated, when they ramp up coverage that means a release date is imminent. Can't wait to play this bad boy! |

Indeed. These two games aren't going to release close enough together to be a problem for anyone. Although you might see the D3 PvP patch landing at round about the same time as GW2's launch, just to mess with them. :-) |

Originally posted by adis5005 Yeah, I know and thats whats sad. People have been waiting on D3 for about 10 years and they still release it unfinished. Thats one of the reasons there seeing so much flack, there are numerous other reasons they are getting flack for D3 and why the popularity of it has sunk so low but releasing it unfinished is the nail in the coffin for many.
It's going to be Duke Nukem Forever all over again :( Sad to see good IP's killed especially after so much time in development. |

Nice so they cut out numerous features so they could get it out before Guild Wars 2. Right after the Guild Wars 2 press weekend with no NDA a dev at the Diablo 3 forums told fans to lower their expectations to which a higher up exec said, 'no no no keep them high'. Then they wait until Guild Wars 2 date comes out and they rush their date to beat Guild Wars 2 after cutting out a massive aspect of the game. Then they release a digital version of their game for $59.99 with absolutely 0 incentives or bonuses. What has happened to Blizzard? You can clearly see they know they are going to get rocked by Guild Wars 2 and their only hope is to cut features and get it out before GW2 to get as many sales as they can. Let's come back and compare GW2 and D3 in 3-4 months. Really dissapointed in Blizzard lately. |

Originally posted by ProfRed Yeah right. D2 fans will not buy Diablo 3 because of Guild Wars 2? There is no way this is happening. A lot of people on these boards seem to underestimate just how huge Diablo's fanbase is. Hell, there are more people playing Diablo 2 than most MMOs. Diablo has a very different feel to it compared to GW2. It's a completely different game. In Diablo you could do everything while playing solo (some people don't like having to rely on 5-20 other people to play the game) and items were rare, super rare. The grind for items in Diablo was endless. The RNG was crazy. This is what kept people playing after all these years. And duels were super fun. |
