@Mavek and @Loke666
You guys are right, of course. I'm just pissed because I was planning on buying the CE, up until they released the price for it.
I don't know why, but I was shocked when I saw that price tag.
I'll get over it. ...lest ye seek the depths of darkest madness. |

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did. |

I'll be picking up this thing, called a box, at a store, which contains a disc, which contains the code for the game, which you can download on your PC and play. Damn kids and their fancy bandwidth! Playing: Nothing Played: AC1, AC2, AO, AoC, CO, CoX, DAoC, DCUO, DN, EVE, EQ1, EQ2,

I'll be ordering my usual CE through Amazon. Depending on shipping times, I may get a regular digital edition just in case (I live in an out of the way place...WAY out of the way) |

The CE. The art prints make it an Insta-buy for me.

Originally posted by Sunthas Only select retailers will let you prepurchase the game and get the Beta Weekend access and the three day headstart, though every preorder will get a 1 day headstart. I assume Bestbuy will be one of them but you might want to hold off on purchasing if you really want the headstart and BW access. |

A sword is never a killer, it is a tool in the killer's hands. |

What? Every single MMO I've played, with the exception of FFXIV (which was a chunk of horse shit anyway) - you just need your login information, and they allow you to freely download the client again. All you are really buying is the account with an online game. Now, there may be hassle if you can't remember your login information - but having a box copy won't do you any good there (unless you happen to write your login information on your box, which you could also do with, say, a post-it note or an envelope or the back of your hand...) |

CE, i've bought every CE of every MMO i've played from WoW and EQ2, to SWG, to Warhammer to Starwars, Definitely getting GW2's. ESPECIALLY because i won't be paying a monthly sub, they deserve a nice big upfront box cost.
$150 for CE with no fee vs $60 regular + $165 for a years sub... I wont feel cheated in the least and i think that statue is going to look amazing defiling my Darth Malgus statue lol |

If you lose what? The box? Wait, you're talking about the digital copy. If you lose... your computer? The internet? I don't have any vague idea what you could possibly be losing. If you are talking about reinstalling, do you not realize that the disc will have the pre-launch version of the game on it? The difference in time it takes to install from the disc then download and apply all the patches compared to the time it takes to download the entire thing is negligible, at launch. If we're talking about a few years down the road, reinstalling from the disc will take significantly longer. Honestly, what are you talking about? Originally posted by gigat Makes more sense now. I did plan on buying CE before any real anouncements because I just wanted to support them. I was willing to go around 110-120 but 150 is just a little too much for me. I'd love to have that stuff but chances are it will just get lost in my room so I'll leave it to people who really care about it. Chances are they won't ruin the figurine like I would lol. Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play? |

I'm just going to get the standard edition.
I was really planning on getting the collectors edition until they revealed it today...then I've changed my mind... No offense to the future players who's going to play the Charr race but I know I won't be playing as a Charr so why do I want to pay for the figurine nor I want a Charr mini pet as well. What they should of done(in an ideal world...) is have 5 different collectors edition, each edition represent a race so we get to pick and choose the race that we're going to play. Oh well, in any event, i'll still be buying the game but just the standard edition. |

I'm a little interested in the Chalice and the Tome. Just how much of a bonus do they offer? I know it gives you a vage descriptoin of it, but I have more questions. I have lots of people together to make a guild, if we all get the Deluxe edition will the bonus to guild influence be cumulative? Or will it just work for 1 person in that guild. I have no idea. |
