Originally posted by dinams if we were talking about the average gorgeousness of a babe on a beach, i doubt you'd hear many complaints from me. but we're talking internet speed and download limits as a barrier to a game. in that way, australia lags (hehe - i'm funny) behind many countries whose economy is often weaker than ours so we have no real excuse other than our politicians still living in the past with no idea of what technology is or what it might achieve. context, guy. look it up. |

Originally posted by headphones last time I checked all the australians threads like these always end up: -Oh god it sucks to live here because internet connection sucks "Some of the less objective people tend to be close-minded though and basically disregard any possible shortcomings that gw2 could have." |

Originally posted by headphones I am sorry but our comments are not regarding your post alone but the general impression from other posts that Australia is not worth living because our internet speeds are crappy. Which sounds very shallow to me atleast. Not saying that you were tryign to say the same. |

Forgive me if I'm wrong but can't you people just order the US or UK version from Amazon or Gamestop, and have it shiped over to you?
MMORPG Forums: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious. |

Ok, but more importanlty, is "Are Australians able to pre-purchase the Physical Collectors Edition Come April 10th?"
If you dont know what Im talking about...um...look here:
https://buy.guildwars2.com/collectors-edition
Now that you are frothing at the mouth, I will be surely pissed if (Like TERA) they restrict posting the physical collectors edition outside the US.
Just a hint NCSOFT...DONT DO THIS!! I WILL GIVE YOU $170 (INC POSTAGE) ON APRIL 10 FOR THE CE!!!
So please. Let us Aussies be able to order it. Thankyou. :) |

Originally posted by kaiser3282 I see your point, but on their behalf this is GW2 for Gods Sake! I do feel for them and have had many online friends from there. I say the more fans we can get playing in WvW the better and if they are hindered we are too. Honestly, My biggest problem with my Ausie friends is they don't have any clue as to what an Outback Steakhouse is. lol Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

Originally posted by Superduper69 As an Aussie who has travelled the world and currently lives in the UK, I can hands down say that Australian internet is a joke, and if the Liberals had their way it would stay as such, since Tony Abbott cant tell the difference between a megabyte and a gigabyte. Its not because we dont have the means to catch up with the rest of the world, its just that the Liberal government at the time was too stupid to realise what a good investment it was. Anyway, if Anet has forgotten about Australian localisation for digital download you should be happy. Games purchased at American rates are way way way cheaper than when they localise to Australia. For some reason game companies try to charge 1.5x the amount in Australia, dispite the currency being 1:1 for quite some time now. The day SoE realised the American dollar was doing so shit they locked everyones credit cards to regions and charged a rediculous rate for overseas customers. |

Originally posted by headphones Western leaders are technologically illiterate, thus they are ignorant of these issues. Plus, here in north america, EVERYTHING needs to be monetized and the desires of Big Business always comes before the public good -- hence, SOPA. |

Originally posted by mazut read back, Aus has pretty shitty internet, they would have to pay their ISP for doing so. Correct me if I am wrong guys.. going from experience playing with aussies and kiwis. on that note.. are we sure Steam WON'T sell it? You can buy GW1 from Steam.

You can buy Aion and GW1 on Steam, so there is a very good chance GW2 will also be on Steam. There are only really two questions: Will it come with the 3-day head start and beta access? Back in Aus I had unlimited data, but got put down to dial up speed if I went over 50gbs which pretty much meant I may as well not use the internet at all. Most websites need more than that these days. The max speed wasnt very impressive either, downloading GW2 will be an overnight task for most Aussies while here in the UK I will have it within half an hour. |

Wouldn't it be more expensive the purchase the physical one? I can understand if you prefer to have the box, but you're going on as if you weren't allowed to purchase any version of the game. Seems a bit of an over-reaction, in the end you're going to get to play just like everyone else. Also your final paragraph insinuates NCSoft has something to do with SWTOR, and they don't.
I do notice Oceana often gets left in the dust, and I'd be right alongside you if this was one of those cases where you couldn't get the game at all (I often here Yahtzee complaining about this) but that it happens so often means there's a reason for it. I don't know what it is, probaby some sort of red tape involved with that region, but once again, at least you can still play.
