Have you seen the minimum system req?

It seems really low, seems like they managed to keep their promise where they said if you can run gw1 you'll be able to run gw2 as well.. 

Minimum sys. req.

Win XP - SP2

Intel core duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD athlon 64-bit x2

geforce 7800, radeon x1800, intel HD3000 (256 VRAM, shader 3.0)

25 GB HDD free space

Damn... The XP support is what surprises me the most.

i think that's the point of the art style: it looks great with minimal requirements.

But meeting those requirements just means that you can play the game at the lowest setting possible. Doesn't mean you won't run into severe performance issues. Hopefully I'll be able to WvW at 25+ FPS, on my mediocre rig.

I think you should consider upgrading the GFX card, it would increase your performance a lot for a rather small sum.

I fact if you get a good one you should easily be able to max out the game.

You can actually run GW1 on a Pentium 3 so it ain't the same but it still is really low. Strain coded the engine so I am not surprised, he is really good.

Very wise move on their part and great for those that don't always have the means or ability to upgrade their hardware.

Its nice from them to give chance for much larger audience of people to play the game. At the same time it gives Arenanet opportunity for higher profit. Everybody is happy, gamers get outstanding mmo and Arenanet get financial earnings to develope further games.

Last statistic I saw on this not too long ago showed there's still a third of the Windows install base running XP. Unwise to exclude them.

Taking a guess you have an AM3 socket and a 95watt processor slot. This is an awsome little powerhouse with the possiblity of the 4th core being unlocked. Dirt cheap.

Agreed, the GFX card would help a lot.

It may not work on the above system... but yours will play it fine. :D

The reason why I have my set-up like this is because I got a smaller PC, with a mARX motherboard. So only a Low Profile graphics card can fit in there. the Radeon HD 5570 happened to be the best one at the time and I got it to replace the Radeon HD 4350. Maybe I would consider upgrading my CPU to the one you suggested (I certainly have a AM3 socket), but I think it's best to save my money and build a new PC next year.

For now this PC should be good enough to WvW in just above low settings and everything else in medium (at 1280x720).

Looks like my computer is good enough, but I'm not sure about the graphics card. ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series - Do I need a new one? :c

Well it's good enough to run it at least. Just try the game beta first and see whether your PC performs as well as you want.

min spec = WvW 1 fps haha yes u can play it but u will be dead most of the time when u cant even move, been there done that with Daoc.
