is this game gender locked? i honestly can't stand gender locking when games gender lock rogueish classes to females only..

Yes.... I'm not a fan of it either but the game is so good that I don't mind.

Downloading it now. Is it in open beta yet? And which classes are gender locked.

The female class uses: Daggers, Bows, and claws.

Class is based on weapon and skill choices and you can mix and match 2 weapons. Game is all about action.

If this is anything like the original Martial Empires you guys are in for an unfortunate surprise.

The graphics in this game are phenomenal, the combat is fun and blood and has a lot of impact, and in general it can be a lot of fun even with the gender locked classes. However, the game is GRINDY as hell. Around 20ish you'll hit a plateau where it will take significantly longer to level and, at the time I played, there weren't enough quests  to level you so you'd have to grind a portion of your levels on regular mobs. Then around 40 you hit another wall, and it becomes even more of a grind.

Played the game last year, played the Sickle to 41 and had enough. If however, you're the kind of player that doesn't mind grinding (there are plenty) then really, this is a great game for you. As I said above, aside from the grind it's probably one of the better F2P games out there. If you're in it for the PvP though, stay away from meleers. Unless it's been changed since I last played, high evasion Claws and Bows pretty much faceroll everything else. You probably won't even get close enough to an archer to do any damage unless you have ridiculously awesome gear.

Has anyone played Martial Empires recently? The last time I played was about 6 months ago, anyone know if the exp curve has been smoothed out a bit, and how the class balance has changed?

Graphics are far from top notch. Don't shoot the messenger, shoot yourselves.

Played for 1 week so far... There are so many quests, you level up so fast. I have a 30 broadsword and a 28 bow user.... On top of that I have 3 level 10 bank alts.

Level cap is 40, so you can imagine how fast the leveling is.

Theres so much to do... Crafting keeps you working and there are also dungeons with solo modes and group modes.

PvP at 31 and battlegrounds are coming soon which include guild vs guild.

If you like ACTION games, you will love this game. 

with a website that poorly translated AND gender locked classes.... doesn't matter how good it is. those niggling things would ruin it for me. have fun though! i'm glad you enjoy it!

This game is amaziningly addicting. I am now level 38, 2 levels away from the level cap and I always have a full quest log. On top of that, I have been working on crafting, doing dungeons, and getting lucky with the jackpot/roulette system!

Did I mention there is a cool find party system! Its so easy to get a group!
