All I see everywhere is hate for this game with barely any real reason other than lack of content and buggy issues, yet when I've played I've had none of those experiences. Sure the story is all solo and feels a bit like a singleplayer game at times, but you can group up with other players for any other mission that isn't story. I don't see what I'm missing here on why this game is so bad, and why people who like it are treated like they've committed a crime and are retarded.
Seriously, what are the real reasons on why this game is THAT bad? I'm only level 30 in the game so I haven't experienced the full game, but from the beginning to where I'm at I've enjoyed it. I don't see it, and don't see why I should be ashamed of playing and enjoying it either. |

its not bad at all. The issue is any massive popular game thats been hyped alot by media has alot of hate generated at it, u will eventually see this happen with gw 2, if it hasnt already, Wow has 11 million subs at one pt but all u here on here is wow is dying and it sucks I personally dont take any opinon that is negative on here very seriously i choose my own games i dont really care what others like. I for one love tor its fun engaging the companion system is cool, and i love the class stories, its not a perfect game but no game is it has its bugs, it probably didnt need to make every quest a vo, some quests and vo are much better then others that said overall i have alot of fun and to me thats all that matters.

If you enjoy it, don't worry about what other people think.
That being said, it's not very good as far as MMOs go. There is no persistent world feel...just a linear single player game with some poor multiplayer and pointless PVP added.
Although its not the worst game in history, the player base often reacts to counter over-hype and inflated ratings by reviewers. Just about every professional reviewer (this site included) gave the game scores that led people to believe that it was an incredibly great game. As for why they did that, draw your own conclusions.
I think that's why you see all the spite and hate. If the reviews had been honest, I think people would have moved on to some other topic much sooner. |

Originally posted by ArgoZex77 There have been plenty of bad SW games and the franchise has survived. A bit of a dramatic statement. And seeing as it seems to be a financial success so far, it didn't ruin anything but some peoples expectations for the game. STO didn't ruin Star Trek, LOTR didn't harm anyones love of the books and movies, etc. It's just a game. |

For example [non gaming related], majoirty of the people do not vote, review products they purchased online, giving feedback to sellers, etc. In addition, people only dissapointed themselves because SWTOR wasn't the game they were looking for as well as the game not being completely polished at launch and so forth. |

Forums are ALWAYS filled with negativity. It's not wrong or bad...it's just the way it is. You have to take every thing you hear with a grain of salt and make a choice by yourself. Like previously said, if you enjoy it who cares what others say. |

And all you see here is the negativity as they are still looking for a game and have a need to bash other games. The ones who like it, are playing it and have no time to write here, thus my post is short as well. |

If you are looking for a mostly single player, casual MMO experience, and have little interest in Battleground and endgame PVP, or endgame raiding, I imagine you would have quite a good time with SWTOR. Though I feel Bioware went overboard with it, the voice acted questing content is imho, excellent and lovingly crafted. The problem in my not so humble opinion, is that everything outside the VO content shows zero of this loving attention to detail or quality of craftsmanship. And even though they had numerous prior theme park games to take insight from, (and five bloody years to design the game) I feel that the actual muliplayer aspects of this game were lack luster and uninspired, and in some cases downright stupidly engineered. And frankly I'm baffled as to why. So this means if you are looking mainly for an MMORPG with fun and/or meaningful PVP, or endgame raiding, SWTOR most likely isn't for you.

i know 20 friends who have all bought and quit this game. myself included. in a few months i see the player base stabalizing at about 1million. mainly because it will occupy the hardcore mmo'ers until there better games come out. ex:gw2, tera, etc. I for one quit at lvl 42 a week before my sub ran out. i went out for the weekend with my girlfriend, came home and forgot i even owned the game. so i canceled my sub immediatly realizing the game had 0 impact on me. No the game is not that bad. On the other hand the game is not that good either. Its just kind of average overall. For those of us that have played MMO's a while this offers nothing new and quickly becomes boring. Also you should never be embarrassed about doing something you enjoy unless its playing Hello Kitty :)

Actually, to correct you a bit, you can even group up for the story quests!
It depends on what you want out of a game though. If you like raiding/ dungeons and instanced PvP for your endgame, TOR has a good amount of it for a launch title, with more on the way Next month. I personally love the raiding (besides buggy ass Soa!) in this game and I loved the leveling experience. If you are an alt maniac then this game has the Legacy system that will fuel your alt mania for a long while. If you don't know about it check out the stiff in 1.2 next month. If you want sandbox features or have some weird impossible expectations for the game, then you would likely be disappointed. Me? I'm still having a blast in this game at level 50. SWTOR rocks. Runs smooth, great stories, tons of content, PVP is a riot. SWTOR is a fun game and my favorite MMO out. Is it a total persistant world sandbox, no.

Depends what YOU like. Most people that complain about Swtor are in 2 camps. Either they prefer games with more variety and freedom (to generalize much) or they are in camp that have to have things like dual specs, cross-server LFG tools, addon and macros support ,etc
Anyway
If you like : linear , quite "closed" and instanced world game + you like to do many alts then you may have fun
I am not a player like that so I don't like Swtor. |

I loved the game at first but then it got very dull for me at about level 30. My reasons for quitting were terrible UI, combat mechanics not suitable for PvP, lack of open world PvP and general emptiness of the world. I'm not saying the game is awful, it's just not my thing due to the above. |

The game is a lot of fun. Yes plenty of the content can be played solo, but that by no means is always a bad thing
I've had great fun joining other players for Flashpoints, and various quests. I've reached lvl 43 with my main, and I have skipped over content since there is so much of it.
The gaming community is full of immature little haters that will trash talk any game that isn't their current favorite..I say ignore them and just give any game you are curious about a try. My only complaint about SWTOR is the quaility of the graphics..as much as I enjoy the game, the graphics are a bit dated. Then again I've never been the type of gamer that sees shiny new graphics as trumping everything else, so It's not that big of a deal. Remember some people in the gaming community live to hate..and will never be happy. |
