VOX - New server created for the F2P rollout.

Luclin-Stromm - High population server.

Xegony - Druzzil Ro - Highest population server.

Firionia Vie - roleplay and trivial loot code rulesets enforced.

Antonius Bayle (Kane) - European

Trakanon is completely dead, but there is a progression guild rolling on it for the f2p which will probably be quite large (Its being done by members of Wrathful Inquisition and past progression guilds, they know what they are doing)

I am on a active server. Luclin-Stromm. My guild and I(well with help from my guildies) are setting up New Player merchants in the Bazaar. You will see everything from no level requirement items to lowbie defiant gear. Only a few items will be a bit pricey. But for the most everything will be cheap.

Sometime this coming up week I will give a layout of the best starting classes in game. Although I do not think some of the classes will be available for f2p players at first launch. Hopefully one of the classes picked will be!

Any reason why you left the Firionia Vie server out?  Or are character from FV not going to be eligible for FTP?  I ask since thats my favorite server which I currently have characters on( one reason is it has +50% xp and the no drop rule)

Its very important to understand FV before playing on it.  Raid drops are not no trade (most fo em anyway, there are exceptons) and can be bought on the bazaar.  This is a huge plus for some, a huge minus for others.  

Also note that the limited access to spell teirs doesnt kick in til the 70s.  The Serpent's Spine was the first expansion (I think) to use this method.

The expansions owned are up through House of Thule I believe, level 85.  Only the latest one isnt free.

I made 2 characters on Luclin-Stromm. 

For people, such as myself, who haven't played in years - everything has changed somewhat but most things still look and feel familiar.

Guk is the best server I have played on in EQ2... such a great community there.

AB's was awful...

I logged in to several servers at various times of the day and found Luclin-Stromm and Xegony-Druzzil Ro to be a bit more populated than the others - YMMV.

SOE will be launching a new server when F2P launches, so for those wanting to start over fresh and at level 1 with everybody else, clean bazaar, etc.. you can.  They haven't announced the server yet, but Piestro mentioned it in the webcast.

New server usually means newbie rush, which should be fun for those wanting to start completely over.

I'll probably create a new character on new server when it opens, but for most part I have been playing low level toons (still ~level 10) on FV.  I love the unbound raid items.  As a casual player (these days) full-time raiding is tough for me to do, but at least I'll be able to equip items necessary for raids I do have time for -- I won't be under-geared ever.

If there is an XP bonus -- even better for me and my current playstyle.  Besides RP can be fun if any actually exists.

I was thinking of returning when it goes free to play, been trying to get it to start downloading the game.  I logged on with my account with 6 some years of vet rewards and the EQ Launcher just says I have to resubscribe to continue playing.. ok, fine.

 So I made another SOE account and tried that, it lets me log in with the new username and then gets stuck on "initializing game information"  I've been trying off and on for the last 24 hours assuming it was an SOE problem but no love yet.  My friend in Iraq was able to download the trial just fine yesterday though.

I'm running Win7-64, this is the error I'm getting in the log over and over:

*Warning: Cannot retrieve icon from Everquest.ico. File does not exist
*Error: WebApp: log( "Network Security Error: Error #2048 > TRACK_URL_COMPLETE" )

I believe you will be able to play your vet account on the 16th.  But if you want to play right now, and it is not working.  Have you tried running the launcher.  Then clicking the options button on the lower left (the gears).  Go to Validate Game Assets.  And Validate it?  Maybe a file is corrupted or not up to date?

Scan Game Assets: Scan..  click it and nothing happens that I can see.  The old launchers gave a status bar or something.  No extra box popped up, no status bar appeared anywhere, and now the scan button is greyed out.

I think I'll delete/uninstall everything and try again with the launcher installer from http://everquest.com/download/everquest-underfoot/ (which is the same one I used yesterday as far as I know, but I went in through th free trial link this time rather than the faq on the F2P page, but looks like the same download)

Edit:  The launcher installer I got yesterday was 4.1 megs, this one today is 11.7, here's hoping..
