Internet Relations Manager Sanya Thomas answers our questions about Imperator, the health of Dark Age of Camelot and how everything impacts Warhammer Online. She also drops a hint about a possible new third project at Mythic Entertainment.

MMORPG.com: It is not often that we see a press release that “postpones” a game, especially when the press release reads more like a cancellation. What are your future plans for the Imperator title?

Sanya Thomas: We try never to say never around here. The assets we developed aren't going anywhere, and we still think the concept and the story have a lot of potential. We had great feedback at E3 from those who actually did a little play testing. For those reasons and more, we won't say cancelled - but we wanted to be very honest with fans in the press release, and make it clear that we weren't actively pursuing development for the time being.

You can read the full Q&A at this link.

they're gonna come out with something else! the idea behind imperator was so original though, I wish they would've stuck with that.

Hopefully any new project they work on next would be Dark Age of Camelot II.
where they correct the Retarded decisions they have made in DAoC.

ToA needs to be gutted, And made do-able solo or with one group. so that you do not have to spend years getting toons equipped with Gear or Master levels. Scroll Drop rates Are still very stupid.
Mythic should allow people to buy the full set of scrolls for their artifacts from an NPC for a couple plat each. scroll Farming is the dumbest idea for a time sink ever.

DAoC is built for the end game RVR. but it takes so long on the normal servers to get to the RVR point, it's not worth the hassle. and if you try and RVR without Master levels or 10 maxxed Artifacts you are screwed.

They have changed a lot about ToA..But they have a ton more they STILL need to change about it.
The new "BG" island sounds to be fun. keep sieges get old.

I'm glad that they dumped Imperator.. Mythic the company known for it's RVR game..Making a solely PVE game. Yeah just look how well EQII is doing..thanks.

Horses, Great for four years players have been asking for horses. now they are going to be part of a pay expansion.. They are giving everyone a basic horse that is blind deaf and dumb to everyone.
if you want a horse that can walk in a straight line you will need to buy the expansion.

Also, the new expansion is centered in an RVR area. (Darkness Falls.) which some realms never even get to see the inside of due to not owning enough keeps. and not being able to compete with the larger RVR numbers in the opposing realms. They had better take that into consideration.

I would not buy an expansion with new content that I would not get to experience due to being in an underdog realm that never has access to DF.

Also Mythic needs to get away from "Nerfing" Classes and calling it Balance.
how can they let something remain in the game for 2+ years then remove it or nerf it into oblivion and say it was a bug. And the new catacombs classes.. intentionally overpowered by Mythic to get people to buy the expansion.. then Nerfed into the crapper. Bait and switch

Mythic has got its hands on something else I have a feeling. They are a great company and I really was looking forward to Imperator.

I am very curious to see what this "new" prject that are doing is.

The free horse is only a tad slower than the horses in the paid expansion. Mostly the difference is cosmetic, such as the Epic mounts, cooler looking barding, etc.

The additional clustering we're about to do will help out a lot on the populations. And even underpopulated realms can gain access to DF if they work at it, I play in underpopulated realms on several servers.

You must play one of those classes. The only time I ever hear anyone calling one of the Catacombs classes nerfed or underpowered was someone who played one. Everyone else constantly complains that they're overpowered. It's all a matter of perspective. Seeing as they're still some of the most popular classes BY FAR out there, they must not be too underpowered. Well, except for Valks that is...

As for leaving something in the game for 2+ years then calling it a bug. Sometimes things don't become apparent until other changes are made to the game. Sometimes a change we make to Item A or Class A makes Item B or Class B unbalanced etc. Sometimes it just takes us a little while to work out a fix for something. There are many reasons.

Don't hold your breath waiting for DAoC 2. The last response I've seen from Mythic is "over our dead bodies."

As for ToA being gutted, well, it has been in the new classic servers. No ToA, no huge timesink, gutted completely. The non-ToA servers are now the three most popular servers.

Yes, But I don't like the idea of just giving up on the three + years of work I have done with my toons on the other servers. and it would be nice to be able to get artis and scrolls and Master levels for those toons without having to stay awake on Boring 4 hour raids. or spend countless hours camping for an Arti that only spawns every 4,000 years. or camping mobs for days on end to get the one scroll I need.

If they changed those three things it would vastly improve TOA for me.
It would be nice to see mythic Change the effect that Toa has in RVR on the old servers as well.
but that is likely not going to happen now.

eventually we will have one large cluster of old servers with 200 people on it and more new classic servers. I would like to see a non-ToA PVP server. but without the ranged/grouped buff thing. :)

I seriously doubt you will ever see a DAOC 2. I am more interested in the fact that if rumor is true a new company has secured the rights to the Battletech/Mechwarrior and Shadowrun PnP games and is re-releasing them. If this is true then it is possible that Mythic has somehow secured the rights to do an MMORPG of one of those two games.

My first guess is Shadowrun since I believe Microsoft still has the video game rights to Mechwarrior.

I would love to see either or both of these made into an MMORPG. Would totally rock to see a mech based MMORPG though.

Isn't shadowrun that Single player game that was on the NES or something?
Or you could be talking about something else. But either way Shadowrun on the NES was an awesome game for it's day ::::06::

Yes, I'm not holding my breath for DAOC II.. it is just a wish kind of thing.
