How many of you out there have started to play GW: Eye of the North again or for the first time because of Hall of Monuments? As most of you know, achievements and honors made in GW are than accumulated and made in points that you can use to provide your GW2 character with special titles, items or companions. You can use achievements from all of your characters and from all Guild Wars episodes, but you got to have Eye of the North to get access to Hall of Monuments. So, did you use HoM reward calculator to see what is waiting for you in GW2? |

Yes, you are late to the party. We already drank tea and talked about this very topic ages ago. In other news, I have only 21 points cos I can't be bothered to get weapon sets and special armour. This is not a game. |

Originally posted by Nimar Yes, my wife and I are starting on this tomorrow night. Today I am putting in her new video card and trying to track down 2 Complete Collections at local Gamestops. We realize we are late to the party, but we are mostly doing it because we enjoy playing games together. Our goal is 10 points, for the full Heritage Armor and Flaming Dragon Sword. Anything beyond that is a bonus. |

Originally posted by FoxyShoxzy You shouldn't have trouble with getting 10 points, You get 3 points right away, just for installing the game. You have plenty of time to get a lot of points. On topic, I'm pretty much done with my HoM. I did all I could with one campaign and EoTN, and I'm not planning to play the rest of the campaigns : http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=main&details=AYvCAAAwvnAAiAAMQgkFAc1FADeAAAAAkUMIAAAAAAA |

Originally posted by Zeroxin pfft I only got 3 weapons and 2 armor for a total of 5 points and I am at 33 points! No need to buy the weapons or armor. That was also in only 2-3 months. Just go back and VQ stuff, map, do EOTN dungeons ect you will get more!

I dont understand, as new player how is possible to force yourself to gring some items and titles, when you have huge new world to explore and have fun?! Thats just wrong :/ |

Originally posted by mazut thats just the thing... you get titles and point FROM the exploration... this is how I did it link so you can see my points I completed every campaign with bonuses, in NF I did nearly every secondary quest for the rep. Then I started VQing every EOTN zone and whatever came up as the zaishen mission or vanquish... mission I made sure and did on HM. VQing the EOTN, NF or luxon/kurzick areas get you a ton of rep so I did those.. If I got tired of that I would go do 1-2 EOTN dungeons either in HM or NM since you need both for EOTN master title. So basically I just did a lot of stuff that led to titles, experienced the game, had fun and completed a ton of stuff and it took me 2-3 months tought I played many hours a day... but much of that time was not working towards anything really... i.e. talking, helping others, buying mini pets. Thats another thing, try to get 20 minis and getting every hero, pet, statue is fast and easy points.

Originally posted by ariboersma This wasnt a question mate. I know how long it takes. I wander why people who enter such beautiful world as Tyria and have new game, different from most MMOs, grinding shouldnt be your priority. And yes you are right, you gain a few on the way, but not enough in the end :) You need to dedicate it. Years of playing and just few pets and weapons at the end to finish it.

Yeah I was doing it ages ago, but didn't do everything I wanted to do... Now I got my tormented weapon, 2 extra elite sets and unique pets, etc... doing everything I can to get as much points as possible :) "Happiness is not a destination. It is a method of life." ![]() |

I am having a hard time just getting into doing the HoM stuff. Mostly because I don't know anyone who plays GW anymore, so playing alone sucks... |

Originally posted by Kaneth Playing solo is my favorite part of GW. Just as "forced grouping" is my least favorite part of GW2. However GW2 still looks amazing and I will try my hardest to solo as much of its content as possible. |

Originally posted by TwinGuard You dont need a group to get 30 points in the HoM for all the in-game items in GW2. If you are going for 50 (its only titles after 30) you'll need a decent PvP guild for the PvP titles. Also theres a lot of players doing the HoM stuff at the moment, most outposts I have been in recently are full of players. |

Originally posted by evilastro I think you misunderstood what I said. Me, I am currently at 28 points and all solod w/ mercs. My soloing comment was more geared toward GW2 playstyle. I think I have solod pretty much all of GWs.. in the time its been out... maybe Ive been in 3-4 groups and it was just 3 ranger groups trapping smites and so forth. |
