Hey guys.
After experiencing the EU CBT this weekend, I am now torn between TERA and GW2. I got to level 23 and loved TERA so much and could really imagine myself settling in, but then remember that all of my friends are holding out for GW2. I have signed up for GW2 cbt but haven't been chosen yet. What do I do? |

Tough one, you could always play TERA this year, and get GW2 for xmass. I think GW2 will turn out to be a more well-rounded experience, but TERA's combat is very satisfying, so it should be enough for now.
I would prefer to get both, and TSW too, but I have bills to pay.

eh?? lemme rephrase...
Is anyone else still tossing up between the two games? And what points, strength and / or weaknesses are you using to make your decision? |

I love PvE moreso than PvP and that makes me want TERA. But when it comes to social aspects and RL friends, it's GW2. |

I don't see why you can't have both really. Especially since one of B2P in the first place and they won't launch at the same time anyway. |

From what i've played of Tera and what i've seen of GW2 the clear winner for me is GW2 even when looking at the combat system. Ofcourse this is my opinion. Tera is action based and so can gw2 be if you want to play that way. Tera uses some sort of combo system which from what ive seen gw2 is offering to in a different manner.
But ofcourse Tera is out before GW2 so you might as well just crap a copy of it and play it until it bores you. As long as you are having fun why look elsewhere for entertainment? |

Marry GW2 and have a fling with TERA whenever you need time off from GW2. ![]() |

I was holding out for TERA forever and have played in all the beta and earlier western feedback plays last year and even though I've not played GW2, I am exclusively looking forward to it.
My advice would be to pass on TERA. It took too long to arrive here, has been sadled with issues in Korea, and the action oriented combat of TERA along with the hyper sex models aren't enough to keep me interested. From what I've seen of GW2 combat it's enough to make me pass on TERA. If you like games like Lineage and Aion maybe give it a shot but otherwise wait for GW2. |

Same here I really like TERA. But I am sure GW2 will be better. Now GW2 will be launched either same time, or couple of month later.
MMOs are games where you invest in your character. Investing in a game just to switch 2 months later is a waste of time. |

Just get TERA, by the time GW2 is released people will already be tired of the game. MMOs don't have a long life span to the average MMOer anymore and GW2 doesn't even have a release date yet. It probably wont be release till late summer at the earliest. If that is true then you got 3 to 4 months of TERA play before even having to worry about the issue. |

People are assuming that GW2 will be out in early summer. But we really dont know. Could be august? september? october? xmas maybe? Who really knows (only anet) so you can choose to play tera by may and still have 3-4 months ahead of gw2 release. I am planning to play both, gw2 being (I hope) my main. My advice to op is this: If you really enjoy tera, play tera. When gw2 is out play the latter or both if you wish. |

We had a thread just like this from lobotimist the other day...
Anyways, GW2 and TERA probably will not be releasing near eachother, GW2 does not even have a CBT, OBT or release date out yet, TERA is already set to release April 28th for those who pre-ordered.
Get both because heres how I look at it..
TERA comes out, you play it until you finish all the content and then GW2 comes out and you have a ton of fun in that and by the time youre done with GW2, TERAs second half of the queen of argon patch will probably come out and you can re-sub for that and then when you're done that maybe GW2 will have a patch and you can go back to that...
Perfectly syncing timeframes, if I am as psychic as I think I am. |

Originally posted by poweruo Ok ok ok, GW2 is not action combat, why can't people get over the fact Tera 1 ups GW2 in that? Yes you have free aiming but it hardly matters unless your shooting aoes. When you look toward a target you auto lock on to it so all free aiming goes out the window. Also i yet to see an action combat game that like you run around and attacking at the same time(w/o some draw back). Even dragon nest and vindictus have some pause or your movement is hammpered in some way in attacks while moving unlike GW2 where your just moving and attacking as what your upper body and lower body are 2 sperate beens. Also GW2 only has collsion box for monster, no collsion for players. Originally posted by NBlitz Win post. Think about it like this, GW2 is the like the girl/guy you were betroth to but your at least half a year away from meeting said person. You date Tera to fill in the time and when you finally meet GW2 you can decide which is better =X. Ofc only difference here is you can have both if you feel like it rofl =X |

Originally posted by rexzshadow Cause not everyone believes that TERAs combat is better just cause its "acion combat". Also, Dragon Nest and Vindictus may have some pause, you can still adjust the direction of your abilities unlike TERA which you just go whereever your character is pointed, which is not fixed to the camera when using abilities, and cant adjust for the situation aka limiting combat. |

To me action combat has that limitation, maybe its because i play monster hunter and god eater burst thats how those game worked. You can't change where your facing in middle swing and has pretty heavy roots. To me having that freedom to just turn around kill the action combat for me. I guess better way to put it is GW2 doesn't have action combat, stop saying it has. |
