Just to clarify I haven't bought the game yet, I've been sitting on the fence for a while to see if the game improves.

The majority of people I've spoken to have told me to wait but this seems like a good price.

That said if I don't like the game it is a bit of waste but I'm feeling a bit flush at the momemnt and haven't played an MMO for a while.

I like some of the bonus features you get, the free mount sounds good as well.

Is it worth a punt?

The mount is nothing.  It is the intro mount, which costs something like 5,000 credits (1 warzone).  You still have to purchase the speeder skill.  This is the bigger expense (40,000 - i think).

I would not purchase any 'special' edition.  The various token items you get with the game are just that, little tokens that quickly take up inventory or bank space. 

Go for the regular version.

no idea should you buy it,istarted to hate Star Wars as a whole while playing that product,but  price tag is cheap  and you will get free month also i think.theres things to do for a month in that game so its not a bad price.

I think the regular edition is fine. You will get at least a month's fun out of it. I think it's worth that. You will then be able to decide if you want to sub or not after that.

Use the extra money (not spent on the CE) to buy pizza and beer, IMO.

If you'd buy it as a single player game then you should go for it. If you don't have much time to play and you'd have to pay the sub for several months before you reach cap on both factions then I guess you'd better save your pennies for the unavoidable (this far at least) sub. The extras from the CE are just that, some people think the statue rocks, the in game stuff isn't really something to hold your breath over.

If you don't want any extras (& there's very little worth bthering with to be honest) just get the most basic version.

I splashed out on the CE but that was the physical box & statue etc & I bought that, because I wanted all the extras, like the figure, art book, etc as a collectible. I definitely wouldn't have entertained the digital collectors edition though.

Well I recommand you NOT to buy the CE, it is not worth the money, if you want to play this game buy the normal edition.

There is nothing much to do after you reach level 50... farming boxes 24/7, run through the same easy(even on hardmode they are easy) flashpoints/instances, make your daily quests and after you got better equipment (T1/T2) start with operations/raids. Of course you can PvP on 3 different battlegrounds (On my server we played 90% Huttball which was really annoying)

The game has nice class storys, the companion system and the classes itself are pretty cool as well... but in my opinion you get everything to fast and because of that you will get pretty fast bored. Just my 2cents

In my opinion the free mount is pretty lame.

You look like you're riding around on a machine powered by the driver's humiliation.

I would not buy it.  

Play a F2P MMO if you must play an MMO at all.

I dont know 1 person that bought the CE that is happy, what you decide is up to you, however i anticipate you will not last longer than it takes you to get to 50!

I'd pass, the games not well developed, the in game items suck and can be bought later, the statue and music are lame.

I bought it and cancelled after 2 months....

there are lot of great f2p game i wouldnt bother

I saw 2 of them on the shelf at our local Best Buy for $150 earlier this week. Good chance they were returns from Christmas.

The majority of people I've spoken to have told me to wait but this seems like a good price. Fifty pounds for a CE is a REALLY good price compaired to retail. Just make sure CD key is valid and not been used.

Statue comes in it's own box IIRC so you could sell that for a few pounds if needed. Not sure what you are expecting out or TOR. If you want a great Story-driven MMO then go for it. If you liked the previous BW RPGs then go for it. You can pretty much play it single player to cap if you want to. That's not a bad thing BTW.

Good thing the price was because of the physical items, not the swill they gave to you in-game as perks. But I am not going to argue here about that. Final product proves I was right about that.

Is it worth a punt? I say yes just because it is quite a steep discound from original price. But if Fifty pounds is going to hurt you to spend on entertainment then maybe not. It's all in how you value your money!

Non-hater post for you. I say go for it. But then again I got my CE for free because of a screw up from Walmart.

yes buy it the statue alone is worth $50

play a free one, and wait for the good ones that are comming --->GW2/Archeage

The statue, jedi journal and security key chain were my favorite parts of the CE. The music CD was nice as was the speeder. The rest of the in game items were useless as far as I was concerned. Overall the extras were well worth the extra price. However, if the game doesn't really interest you then I don't know why you would even consider buying the CE, regardless of the sale.

It is astrounding to me that so many people in this forums think that SWTOR is fail and it sucks yet are posting on SWTOR each an every single day.  If you want ot play SWTOR buy it cause its cheaper, if you dont want to--then don't.  It's really that easy.

To the people who come in ehre and just slam the game outright no matter what the threads subject matter is you should really find something better to do with your time. 

At $49.99, even as much as I can't stand the game itself, I'd say yes to buying the CE. The statue alone is worth that much and will increase in value over the years ( the manufacturer Gentle Giant is a well known and respected maker of collectible statues ).
