This game... this game, makes me happy with every fcking video. It's seems to good to be true, but then you start to see the actual gameplay videos made from actual players and everything seems to work, everything seems so good. Only the combat feels the same old, but from all the videos the combat's ones are the least interesting. Sailing, house bulding, diving, ship bulding, tree climbing, farming (the actual farming), skydiving... and the most important of them all an Open Seamless World.
If they can create a great economic system and a good PVP system this game will be the dream of almost every mmo player.
And the Asian culture stuff just add to the game, i do like their style. But i wish the male characters were more... male. But i'm ok with it, its like everyone is an elf.
Man, i can't wait for it to release here. |

An example of the work they are doing, here are the Google Translated patchnotes from the curent weeks patch that go with the above video; http://archeagesource.com/topic/496-cbt-4-patch-notes/page__st__40__p__9732#entry9732 Key points seem to be... -Swim fins increase swimming speed +50% -added crafting tools that can be placed in player homes, item upgrades can only(?) be done on these -Item repair removed from npc vendors and added as a player craft skill |

Originally posted by Pivotelite This is pure speculation but it's very possible that XLgames is waiting for the asian release before even starting to negotiate a western publishing deal. Why make the deal now when sandbox games are out of fashion and concidered "risky" in the West? No, if they're a smart company, they'll wait for the game to be a smash hit in Asia before talking publishing rights anywhere else, that way they can get a way better deal, with a top drawer publisher. That's what I would do. |

They would do well to take a lesson from FFXIV regarding this.
FFXIV launched with this concept, and almost everyone really hated it.
Nowadays, in ffxiv, the NPC can restore your gear to 99%, but you will need a crafter to restore it to %100 so that you can resell it. |

Look at TERA. Once championed as the best thing to happen to MMORPG genre in terms of combat, and now everyone is so tired of it before they've even played. |

Originally posted by CyclopsSlay Sorry to contradict you, but this is not really accurate. The only way to repair now is by synthetising 2 items together. So what they actually added is an item sink, something I think is needed for an healthy economy. |

Ok, everyone pony up and we'll bring it here ourselves. GIT R DUN "Censorship is never over for those who have experienced it. It is a brand on the imagination that affects the individual who has suffered it, forever." - Noam Chomsky |

Originally posted by Raxeon I don't really know how big team they have but creating a MMORPG you CANT be lazy, requires too much stuff to be successful yet AA is either working fast or they have a big team or just releasing things they have hidden somewhere. suggesting that other developers are lazy is wrong. |

Originally posted by Kuro1n Well, maybe the SWTOR devs were lazy, deluded or high... LOL Seriously though, every week it seems at times, there is some new "Gee-Whiz!" moment, lots of bug fixes and skill adjustments. More changes than some games ever produce even monthly. |

Developers forgot what made mmos special. Until we get that back the genre wont move forward. |

I haven't seen this level of detail since UO and of course they are adding many new features that could make this game the richest mmo experience to date. I'm trying not to get obsessed with this game before the release date, but I'm very excited. I think I'm going to explore and make some money, build a farm, and create my wealth with food and maybe some leathercraft on the side from hunting. Knowing that some other player decided to build a raft and start his pirating career instead brings the world alive. People making decisions while playing a game, not the game dictating how you play. *sigh* |
