I am just interested and curious to see the number of people on this particular forum that will be buying GW2. Now I know things can change in your decision from now untill release time, I just want you to vote on your current stance for the question at hand. (Please, no hating in this thread, I just want a simple yes/no/maybe answer. If you don't like the game thats fine, not everyone likes the same thing.) Feel free to ask questions regarding the game if you have any questions. I'm sure one of the many helpful members of this site will answer to the best of their ability. :)

Sooner or later every MMO fan will buy GW2, because its good and there is no sub required. Its a bargain in MMO land. Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

Yup. Can't see why I wouldn't. For a standard game price I'll get something that I'll be able to play for much longer than most of singleplayer titles out there, and if it will live up to it's expectations it might even save me money in long term as I won't buy other games for at least few months. If it flops... then well, it will always be decent, polished fallback title, still better than most of F2P games <.< |

Yes I will. After a quick purchase I plan on playing with no subscription what so ever, this is a big deal for anyone who should try this game. If the game lives up to what I am looking for, I will purchase in the item mall to support the game without question. |

Maybe. For me to say yes, then I'd be buying into the hype for sure. I don't know enough about the game to decide to purchase it or not. |

It seems like people never ever learn, otherwise the result would be 100% " Maybe, I have not decided yet".
People, don't make a decision before you actually tried the beta extensively or at least get various reviews from people who have.
At this point, I doubt anyone on this forum has played enough and seen enough to do a rational decision. |

Originally posted by Ezhae Good point. Thats how I feel. Even if the game isn't all its cracked up to be, I will still get a ton more hours of gameplay out of GW2 than I will from buying an offline 360 or PS3 or PC game for the most part for the same price. Even the some of the worst MMORPG's give more fun playtime than most offline games. Still I hope it is as good as I have been hearing from Beta testers, I could really use a new MMO in my life. :) (>^_^)> MMO Veteran <(^_^<) |

Keep in mind, buying stuff doesn't need to be rational, It can be purely emotional. If someone is into something on such a level that he simply must have it, regardless of what others say, why not ? If people buy cars, even houses on that basis, then why not a game ? |

Originally posted by InFaVilla I can assure you I have seem more footage of other actual people playing the game and enough in depth detail on game mechanics to know I will enjoy the game.
In fact it's the first MMO release that I haven't had to try convince myself that it will be different, it just is and it's plain as day to see. Maybe you could stick with the idea that you need to wait until release to know how a game plays for other games that have released in the past but GW2 is there for all to see, if you do enough research.
And regardless of how the game is, I believe ArenaNet deserve my money for the initial box at least because this is the exact kind of game I have been waiting for since WoW. When I got WoW I imagined what could be better and most of it ends up looking something like GW2. |

Originally posted by InFaVilla Yes, i'm more willing to listen to other people's experience than my own in the demo to decide whether or not i like the game. I absolutely loved the time i played in the demo, and the footage i've seen shows that the potential for that fun exists in at least another 5 other zones. :D Also, we've seen more GW2 footage than any recent release in gaming history across all genres. There are dozens of hours of footage out there. If you still 'don't know' then you've never been able to buy a game on day 1, ever. Plus, if the whole game was just the world itself with NPC's, with no PvP or MMO elements i'd still buy it because i really like the GW lore. Some people are cautious, some people are more confident in what they like. I know what i like. GW2 does what i like. I'm buying it. You wont find me start up a single whining thread ('omg this game is sooo crap, wah wah wah') after release either. Never have, never will. Because i know what i like, and i don't buy games that i end up not liking (I can get bored of a game like anyone else, but i'll enjoy myself in the meantime, like ToR) :p If it's a game that is more of a 'backburner' game like mass effect 3, assassins creed ect. i'll get it in a sale :) That way if it's only a game i play once because it was good, but not amazing, it won't matter! So, yes, i've not needed to 'learn' because i don't get swept up in hype machines and make games into something they're not. I have realistic expectations, always have :) I don't get burned because i know to keep a safe distance from the flames ;) |

Yep, no sub and crazy cool features how could you pass it up? |

Originally posted by InFaVilla This is true, but that is why I asked for people's current stance. I will probably make another poll after the public beta goes down, then I will compare the numbers to see if it was a successful beta and if the game lives up to its pre-release hype. ^_^ (>^_^)> MMO Veteran <(^_^<) |

There's well more than enough Guild Wars 2 content on the internet right now to make an informed decision as to whether or not you'd like to buy it. I definitely have my reservations about the game, but I don't think it would be a wasted purchase if I bought it today, and I'd gladly do so. |

Originally posted by InFaVilla I see what you mean, you wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first right? =P lol I feel I have learned enough from devs and beta testers alike to form a solid oppinion of the game though. I will buy the game though, I am that confidant that I will enjoy it enough to make it worth the cost of the game. (>^_^)> MMO Veteran <(^_^<) |
