Ya the game must be flawless, that's why they can't give any serious criticisms. :rolls eyes: |

If you play MMOs for a living this is something you should know. Golden MMOs are ones that can keep you playing and nobody knows if GW2 can do that. They certainly didn't play long enough to know its a masterpiece, at most they can see the signs its shaping up to be one. |

There is something to be said about viewing a game after the honeymoon period has ended. Once the novelty of a fresh new game wears off, that's when I take real notice of the reviews and viewpoints. If he had been beta testing for more than a month, I would be much more inclined to believe the game's longevity on my desktop. |

For an MMO to be amazingly fun right from the beginning, for it to defy all preconceived notions of what an MMO "should" be, and for him to have all of that at the VERY beginning of the game (no grinding to get to the good stuff, no grinding PERIOD) and for him to safely put viral that it is a masterpiece. To realize something is good takes time, to realize if something is incredible is instant. |

It's nice to see a western developed MMO that doesn't look like complete crap with an ugly art style. |

I've been seeing this a lot recently. Seems like due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from GW2's beta testing, the diehard haters of GW2 are resorting to meaningless sarcasm instead of actual intelligent criticisms. Seems some people are stubborn till the end. |

What I got out of this article is that the press community is what we used to have in a community back in the "old" days before WOW. A helpfull community that wasnt all about memememememememe. I just dont see random people rezing someon else or people handing out loot they cant use for free. At least not everyone. Some of us still do that sort of thing. Or give up some of our playtime to help some random stranger. But overall? I just dont see that ever happening in an MMO again unless it gets back to 200k subs being tops and the community being a tight group of people. |

This isn't about haters vs fanbois. This is about someone calling a game a masterpiece after 2 days of playing (no, not playtime - completely different). You don't even get the newness feeling out of your system in 2 days, let alone put up more than just an opinion based on your own hype. Remember, all the same things were said about SWTOR during it's early beta stages and if you can't take that into account then you truly are the perfect client for ArenaNet...and no, I'm not saying it is a terrible game - I for one hope it does well because it's looking fantastic - just pointing out that throwing yourself on a sword for the sake of a game review based on maybe 10 hours of playtime isn't any more intelligent than blindly hating on a game you haven't played. Writer stated, "nice to finally have a chance to get a look at the title after all these years of just reading information and watching videos of other people play. It was a real treat". It's ok to be excited about something but alot of us are sick and tired of reading reviews from people who have little to no appreciable experience in a title. PS. MMORPG's text editor really sucks. |

If a game can even keep me playing - let alone loving it - for two days, it is a masterpiece compared to 90%+ of titles out there. |

Obvious your a GW2 fan so your overly excited i can all understand that, why you guys can't be more open minded more objective even when your a fanatic fan? You play this beta weekend as a fan a dream comes true and your guided by developers who tell you alot of inside information so you have smooth run the whole weekend. And becouse of this smooth run you call it a masterpiece come on PLS be more realistic that the game is very good and maybe become a masterpiece after all normal fans have played it first month without problems and setbacks then you can call it a master piece not inthese condition 2 days and guided by devs. MikeB also played the Beta weekend and was more honest and alot more objective and openminded about GW2 he gave it a 8/10 beta preview rating. I quit Guildwars 2 for now im fed up with empty world:(... played:AC-Darktide,AC2-Darktide,L2 and Darkfall.Solo Fav games:Morrowind,DayZ(PLAYING NOW), Skyrim, Bioshock, Age of Empires 2, Soldiers of fortune 2 and many more... |

Every single MMO ive played where I didnt have a good first impression Ive quit before the 1 month mark, with the exception of Darkfall. I really enjoyed DF the first 3 days I played it untill I started getting camped by gankers thereafter I quit and ive forbidden the FFA gank mentality of the supposedly sandbox game forever.

I love the idea of gameplay not being nailed to the quest hubs, getting quests, turning quest... bleh... -)) it is the way it should be. If you fought the bad guys - you get the points, it doesn't matter if you was directed there by NPC or you just stumbled over them while mining... )) Reminds me of WAR open quests (which I really loved) - hope they would improve it a bit... and balance ... in WAR you can work towards the open world quest right from the scratch by stumbling upon it, but when you advance to ... errr ... level 2 or 3 objectives - you can't finish it alone and need to LFG to finish the world Q boss etc. Sometimes you need like 8 or 12 people... and it's not really funny - cause you did all the hard work of grinding the first 2 objectives (e.g. killing 100 monsters) but to finish the Q and get the boss loot you need to further assebmble the group (if there are enough players in the zone), defeat the boss and only after that you'll get the loot Yeah - your loot will be better since you have invested the most into the Q, but still it felt unbalanced and the need to LFG to finish the Q was an immersion breaker. Maybe some intermediary rewards would be great - like if you fought the bandits alone and there are no players to help you out finish the boss, you still get the reward for your effort... |

2 days are way enough to get the feel of a game, it's not enough to see end game content obviously, but it's enough to see the overall mechanics of a game and see if it's of your liking or not (TOR here you are). The whole idea of not having quests anymore, of having people getting xp anytime they work together is good, same goes for the classes with the bazillion of class reviews going around (like yogscast) you can see how they work pretty well. This beta was 2 days only, but 2 days for a lot of press people who, thankfully, didn't all look at the same stuff, giving us quite a large band of information. Now the ONLY thing we need, is a huge god damn player beta to get innit already and see for ourselves ! C'mon Arenanet, give us that beta now ! You're a Hardcore Survivor! You not only survived the zombie apocalypse, but did it with style! Your mastery of zombie knowledge, survival tactics, and weaponry is nearly unmatched. Congratulations, for you are hardcore! |

What's really sad is too many subpar MMOs in the past have lead you to believe that a game simply can't be seen as great in just 2 days of play. This WoW clone flooded industry has only crushed your hopes and dreams... |
