This is a interview mixed with gameplay and trailers but alas there is actual gameplay mixed into it. it also has a little bit of making fun of GW2 opening but oh well.

I already left a comment days ago on that video. Why so much talking? It's like I'm back in 2008 watching Age of Conan talk-a-thon videos. ![]() |

Standard MMO gameplay broken up by cutscenes. where is the innovation? in the secondary systems? no leveling a character but leveling skills. no "classes" but it's tank/heal/dps, tab target based.... i'm statrting to understand why it was so tightly under wraps.
edit: i see that characters still don't bend their legs when they jump, still have the same 2 casting animations and melee attacks still look like they're going right trough chracters. |

Originally posted by fony Lol. Here we go again. No classes, no levels, means that you can use any build you like without class restriction; but just like with GW2 that doesn't mean that there is just chaos in team combat and no roles, just that people can be various roles. Roles that btw aren't restricted to trinity ones just as little as in GW2. People can go for hybrid builds, builds that focus on damage deflection or prevention instead of damage recovery, and so on. GW2 is tab target based as well, if you want to look into something really innovative and different - for MMO's - then it's TERA's aim based combat. GW2's as well as TSW's combat differences lie in a different area. TSW for example uses a skill synergy/combo system next to being able to use any mix of the 588 skills that someone might like. I could go on, but if someone is determined to stay prejudiced and hardcore fanboing over 1 game while bashing all others, well, don't know what use there is in providing more details than I already did. |

It's so easy on this site to see who belongs to what community. <3 TSW community. |

Slapped this on the other post as well... From a French site, all spoken in English though. Most info I could find from a video :) |

looks interesting enough but the character movements seem a little rigid. I have to give TERA props for making alot of the character animations really flow, too bad I don't think the actual game looks as interesting as TSW may prove to be. |

Nice enough video, but still precious little gameplay. It's good to hear they have thought about build management and have a good system for dealing with it. Short of a non-restricted beta though I'm still going to hold off till after launch / some real gameplay experiences are shared (dev led guided tours don't count). |

I thought that Guild Wars 2 joke at the beginning was in extremely poor taste, very tacky, and entirely too long. It was rude, disrespectful and unnecessary. That is a good feature I've not seen before, and I think it is a good idea. There is no reason to make fun of good ideas that make things easier and better for players. As for what the video was actually about, I kind of loved it. I especially loved the UI and inventory stuff. This is a modern, alt world game, and Light knows I've been waiting for something in that realm for a while now. I really like the clean lines and minimalist look of the interface. That's what a game set in the modern world should have. It would be weird with either fantasy glowy crap or scifi crap. I also really loved the explanation of bags, which I hadn't heard before, or that you can save and load builds. That is something that we don't see often enough in MMOs, especially ones that can have complex theorycrafting and deep builds. I have said it before, but I am really pleased that more games in development these days are focusing on getting rid of the things that annoy players, waste our time, and make the game less enjoyable. I really appreciate this trend. "There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit." — John Parry, to his son Will; "The Subtle Knife," by Phillip Pullman |

A lot of interviews and little gameplay. Anyway, I really want to see more of the gameplay stuff. It's one of the few mmos I'm actually looking forward to. |

Funcom usually has some unique ideas. I hope that they are able to make them all work and put them in game. I know that people are going to translate "ideas" with "promises", but luckily, I don't believe that people with that thought process will even consider this game.. There are a few things that have caught my eye that I felt was out of place. I don't like the fireball animations. Placeholder? Strafe movement, looks bad. Not sure what development phase it is in, hope it's not too late to fix some of these details. Because as we all know, once the game is in open beta, the game is done. I really like the concepts and will most likely try it out.
