i wake up to an e-mail stating that i'm going to be charged another month. I clearly don't want this, and since i'd taken every scrap of my credit card information off of my account last month i did not expect this morning's events. I call their customer support, and am speaking with someone i can barely understand. This is not something that is uncommon. Most call support centers are outsourced...no big deal. However, i've been on the phone with four different people trying to get this fixed and the golden part of all of this is....they are refusing to clear my information from their computers. They say that they can't, and that i will be charged. What. The. Frikk. Everytime i try to explain that i don't want to be charged and that i want every scrap of information taken from their system, they claim that they can't understand what i am saying. Is anyone else out there having this problem??? |

You're clearly not swag enough to deal with these people, and hence deserve to be gutted for your money. I dont care if its an Indian or Chinese or what, give me that phone and Ill have your money back + freebies. It would go a little something like this: Them: welcome to EA customer support how can I help? Me: I want my van, and my money back bitch. (it helps if you can chuck an accent here, doesnt matter what kind, as long as you dont sound like a typical dumb white kid.) Them: Im very sorry sir, what did you say about a van? Me: I want my van. Them: We dont have your van, Im afraid. Me: then give me my money. Them: one moment. (placed on hold for no more than 2 minutes while they frantically check whats happening, clearly this dude means business.) Them: (back from hold) Y-Yes sir, I will get your money. Me: And my van. |

Yeah, I checked and I have the same email form EA. I cancelled weeks ago.
Kind of reminds me of when Warhammer charged subscribers multiple times one month then a few days later they said someting along the lines of, "Ops, sorry dudes, our bad. We'll send your money back as soon as its convienient." |

I'm not sure if you saw the thread posted about this from this morning, but basically you need to look at the email again. If it is like everyone else's, it is a receipt from last month; not a new month sub. I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil |

see there was already a thread on this topic. http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/342148/Subscription-canceled-not-really.html and this one too http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/342376/SWTOR-sent-me-an-interesting-email-this-morning.html
Having read them the resolution was did you check the date? It was from the previous month for the others. From my understanding one of them wasn't a mistake, it was simply a bill for the previous month. check the date on the invoice. Good rule for all bills / invoices. |

Call your credit card company and block EA from charging you. Ever again. Don't even bother with talking to them. They do tend to exhibit "technical difficulties" when you want to unsub. The buggers pulled that one on me for WAR and I'll be damned if they see one red cent from me. Ever again. I don't appreciate it when people try to scam me by playing dumb. Frankly, I find it insulting. That'll give 'em something to think about. |

Is this the third or fourth problem with emailing customers from Bioware. Seems every month we have something new with them botching the email system. BOOYAKA! |

Just as most people getting the emails don't notice the date in the body is not .. current. Personally I don't find it common to get an invoice for an order a month after it happens... but that's another story I guess. Typical thread: Blocked, blocked, blocked, intellegent post I may not agree with, blocked, blocked, blocked, intellegent post I may agree with, blocked, blocked... |

I had no problems with it, then again I pressed cancel subscription. If you really want to get technical if you only remove your payment details you didnt terminate your contract and you still are oblicated to pay.
Its just like every other service offered, like rent for a house, your contract doesnt stop when you deside to stop paying. |

Yeah. I got my receipt for January about 3 days ago.lol. It was strange but it did clearly say January x,2012 and thanked me for my subscription. Wasn't too shocking . |

in reply to some of the more colorful posts in here, after reading the email a bit more they did indeed post the date at the top which was the 3rd of February and was an oversight on my part. However, i have the exact same email that i received after i subbed, so i found it quite odd to receive another email. Either way it's taken care of, but i found it odd to get another email about it. |

Originally posted by Laughing-man Oh, ok, right... a kneejerk reaction there... However the point still stands, some companies do tend to exhibit a sudden total lapse of technical competence when it comes to unsubbing or anything that might cost them any money, regardless of what your rights as a customer are... While it's all a breeze when it comes to them recieving your money. I deal with this kind of crap very quickly and with a single phonecall. As for them refusing to delete his CC information.. Well, tough luck buddy, welcome to 21st century. The only thing you can do is pray that EA doesn't get hacked... |
