I just have to say it: Call of Duty is so much better than every MMO. Seriously, I would rather play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 than play ANY MMO that is out right now. That is how bad MMOs have become. Worse than Call of Duty... my god... what the hell happened out there... what the hell happened?

well, you obvioulsy.....and that's about it.

but you are right, mmos have grown pretty stagnent in the last few years. CoD is fun but for about an hour a week or when your buddies come over. it's really not a game i can ever spend hours on end playing.

I'm playing Tribes Ascend until GW2 or TSW drops.  Nothing else worth playing around here, IMO.

I'm hoping that Planetside 2 serves to give us a proper meshing of level, competitive play with an entertaining form of progression and PvP motivation.

Let's face it, MMOs these days are designed for the 7-107 year old demographic. 

I would rather play any mmo then console game Call of duty:Modern warfare 1-2-3 or whatever.

Na, I hate FPS's 

At least with an MMO you don't get its sequel over and over year after year, paying full price repeatedly for largely the same game.

EDIT: As well as an "elite" (lol) subscription fee, forgot that at first.

I find myself sitting in my guild's vent palying tribes ascend more than mmo's lol...

But it's because mmo's have been simplified and streamlined into pick up and play games, which is fine. The problem is.... traditional mmo gameplay, at it's core, sucks! Why would I want to pick up and play  games using wow's combat when I can play tribes or mount & blade; It's a no brainer. Tribes and mount & blade's gameplay is a thousand times better than rift or swtor.

I liked mmo's for all the other things that came along with it. If mmo's are going to go more of the pick up and play based route, which they are besides for sandboxes, then they need to have good gameplay.  That's not the case right now. The only released mmo's that are even remotely interesting are the indie sandboxes imo.

I like BF3 more.

I can`t stand FPS games or there community`s.  So i would say old school mmo games.

Call of Duty is becoming what i hate about MMORPG's today. so no, not i.

to me, COD and BF3 are the FPS equivelent of SWTOR

kill some stuff in a corridor -> watch a cutscene -> kill some stuff in another coridor -> watch a cutscene... and so on

I think 65 FOV looks the best (at 16:10 ratio) and that's what I change any first person game to that allows it.  Amazing to me that people prefer the peripheral distortion of 80-90 FOV, but I understand people should be able to do whatever they're used to.

Probably someone who either does not like MMOs or lacks the patience to develop a character and play an RPG MMO.

I like FPS games, but not Call of Duty.

If there were a good MMOFPS to play then that would be awesome. I hope planetside 2 turns out awesome.

One thing that sucks about FPS games are the cheaters though. I think every FPS needs bullets with some travel time to put a hamper on aim bots. But there are also wall hacks, and other cheats that kind of turn me off to the genre.

I'd rather play Minit Man than most of these new MMOs.
