Salutations! My wife and I are looking for a new mmorpg to play. We've played WoW, Rift, and LOTRO. Now, we're trying to find something that's a bit more open. Preferably something job-based. Something where we can put time into just a pair of characters who can unlock many (or all) job classes to compliment each other. Any suggestions are welcome, although we would prefer something newer if possible. Thank you very much for your time. |

Welcome to the forums. Care to explain a bit more about what you mean by job based? Tons of decent mmo's out there if you're not too picky. Just need to know exactly what you're looking for. |

try EARTH ETERNAL. it's anime graphics with only few classes at first, then u need to lvup a 2 other classes to unlock the 3rd class and etc... also FF XIV, not really the same as the top but u can lvup and change classes(jobs) anywhere just by switching your weapon.
woudl try to find others but i believe those 2 are the only ones |

Final Fantasy XI may also work as well. 20 Classes in all, and you can switch them in your mog house. As a duo, it will be a lot easier to level than if you were soloing, and helping each other get what one of you needs is always great. The game is older, but the community is still alive, I suggest at least giving it a free trial run through. The game has changed a lot over the years and there is a large amount of content, but a lot of it is overshadowed by Abyssea, though at the new cap, 99, The two of you can most probably complete a lot of the older content as a duo, but some of it will still require the help of a linkshell. I wish you two luck in your endeavors. Per...So...Na... |

if you are not very concerned about graphics, you can try Istaria or Ryzom |

Originally posted by skeith138 OMG. You actually suggested FF XIV to someone? That was a joke right? I wouldn't even suggest that POS to someone I hated. Here is a suggestion OP, if a game is associated in ANY way to SOE . . . run away screaming at all possible speed. No other developer is better know for releasing bad games and then never really fixing them OR supporting them with anything other than the most skeleton of crews. Heck, dead games on private servers get better support than SOE games do. "If half of what you tell me is a lie, how can I believe any of it?" |
