Like the title says which MMOG do you believe will be the best of 2012? Observe that this list is based on my assumption that they will be released in 2012. I am a sandbox believer so for me it is ArcheAge.

Well ArcheAge won't see a western 2012 release, so hard to count that, else i would. It's still closed beta for Korea and a few months away there. An average of a year for localization...you're looking at 2013 easily.

I think both tsw and gw2 will be a damndest site better than the recent deluge of bad wow clones
I think Archeage, wod and planetside 2 should be good too, but not this year |

I very much doubt that Archage or Wildstar will be out in 2012. So that leaves us with GW2, Tera and TSW and of course WoW. There is a reason to check all three (at least for me) and not much of a reason to check the last. There are a lot of interesting stuff to check on GW2 within the B2P model. Combat and healing in Tera is beyond anything I've played so far, bringing (for me) for the first time the action ahead of the quickbar. TSW brings also a lot of interesting stuff, from the setting, the character development and other worth checking. Really hard to choose without actually playing the games first. |

Tsw should be the best for 2012 Just because of how it appears to be so different. No elves, gnomes, etc, modern setting, no " levels " , skill based.
It just needs a decent release and not be a single player game with a sub, or a 3 button mashfest. Somehow it will be ruined. I just hope not
Tera has a good chance too. Good graphics, supposedly a combat system that's not tab target, stand there mashing your hot keys till its dead, move to next.
I am kind of hoping for something like eq1 with better graphics and better ui. I miss the days when toons had a specific purpose. Besides healers, tanks, and dps, you had pullers, and cc. Maybe next year lol

Guild Wars 2 is the only one i have more than a passing interest in, other than Archeage which won't be out this year. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. |

Originally posted by Vegetto Well like I said, these are just my assumptions. So vote as pretending that these games would actually be released in 2012, even if you think it wont. |

DUST514 will probably be the best. its the only one with original concepts. all those mmos on that list are just copy/paste mmos. also why is that list so short?

Guild Wars 2... nuff said. ArcheAge doesn't count, because we won't see it, in the West, for at least another year. That's if they ever get a Western publisher. |

Archeage won't be released this year and the combat leaves a lot to be desired, GW2 gives me the same feeling with the combat.
The only game on the list I have actually played is TERA and I absolutely loved that game so it automatically gets my vote. I mean it doesn't make much sense to vote on a game you haven't played.
I'm sure a poll like this before BETA testing for SW:TOR would have seen a runaway with SW:TOR for votes, but look how that turned out. |

Nah it wouldn't, gw2 was top of the hype meter before swtor launch. (and tsw & Archeage were above swtor also)

I voted GW2, can't wait to play it. I also might check out TERA but I'm not really impressed with the BAM hype. Bigger=/=Better Follow my MMORPG.com blog: Classic RPGs and MUDs |

GW2. AA might be interesting too but since we wont see an English client this year and maybe not even next year I don´t see why it even is in the poll. TSW and TERA seems both to be pretty fine game, but neither of them are even close to GW2. You can just compare this sites beta previews if you don´t believe me, and don´t say this site was bought, I yet have to see a ANET banner or add here.FunCom on the other hand advertise here often. |

GW2 by a long shot and ArcheAge will follow suit but won't be out till 2013 at the earliest for us in the West. However, I hope to be surprised by Wildstar, TSW, Dominus and the Repopulation. Maybe even Origins of Malu. |

Well i voted The Secret World it will really be a great mmo.
But best game based on what ?
number of players : maybe GW2 most innovative/sandbox elements : Otherworld (you did not mention that) graphics: i think TSW etc.
It really depends on taste, but I bet that GW2, TSW, ArcheAge and TERA will great mmos. But for me, TSW and Otherworld are the most innovative and original games that will release in 2012. |

Cant tell. I think that GW2 will be a strong contender. But I dont know enough about some others on the list. And even GW2 hasnt released yet. I wont be able to chose untill all of those are released or 2012 has ended. |

Originally posted by Loke666 Not even saying they're bought but comparing media converage doesn't mean anything for comparing games. So MMORPG is covering more of GW2 and ANet has better experience with these sites than EME. That says nothing for which game is better. Also, we're all kidding ourselves if we don't vote for Pandaland. I'm aware that the onslaught of mmo's last year, and mistakes by Blizzard, led to a small decline in subs ("small decline" still, sadly, being more than the total subs of most of its competitors). I'm sure Kung Foo' Panda will have more subs than any of the rest by Jan 2013. So very sad. Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug. |
