Originally posted by Puremallace Very well said. This website is only good for the forums, the people who write the articles are the biggest fanboys of every game. I wish there was more people(like those who were 'dismissed') who had real opinions on games rather than allowing their emotion to blind them about how poor the game actually is. I agree with the original poster that some of the videos have too much lag for my taste. What worries me more is that these are mostly media who have computers that should be able to handle the game fine. The major concern for me isn't that certain videos had an obvious lack of good FPS, it's the massive hit they took to their FPS when they were around multiple players. I know what ArenaNet is having playing guild wars and I still don't understand why this game is being hyped up as much as it is. I completely agree that after the giant failure that SWTOR is, I cannot trust most of the writers for MMORPG.com. They were so set on SWTOR being the greatest game ever and I'm willing to bet most of them have already given up on BioWare's MMO. Sennheiser |

Hell that video looks a lot different from this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzQCi7c0DuY I assume the one you posted the persons system just wasn't up to it. Lower graphic settings and more laggy where as the assault on the keep I watched in the above link the graphics looked better and I didnt see lag.
You need to step back from the computer and maybe not jump to conclusions. The issues I was seeing from step one of TOR is completely different from the feel I am getting from watching some of these videos. |

Originally posted by AcmeGamer Pretty sure the guy in your video is getting less than 20 FPS on average... Framerate issues wouldn't surprise me though, as even FRAPS shouldn't make players with good PCs lag that bad. I can't think of an MMORPG released since LotRO that did not have major performance issues. One of the biggest reasons for WoW's success is its highly optimized game engine that can run on almost any computer. Can't believe that keeps getting overlooked. |

Despite the exaggerated opening post, good performance is a major key for the possible success of GW2. Once the doors open for the public to test the GW2 beta, I do hope that W vs W vs W does not become a lag festival for the majority of the players. Major performance issues for the general population would be one of those failures that can crush a game no matter how good the rest of the game is. |

Originally posted by AcmeGamer Are you argueing that there was no real performance drop when too many players were on the screen? I'm confused what you're trying to argue here. I really hope you're not blind to the *fact* that every single video of the massive PvP had enormous drops in FPS when they were drawing too many characters. Even the PvE events with the centaurs had a large amount of lag for some. Their computers could be p90's, but it doesn't let ArenaNet off the hook for the dramatic FPS drop during large scale fights.
I'm not saying that the game is crap because of the current FPS, but I am saying that it is alarming with so few people in this beta that people were expierencing that amount of lag. Sennheiser |

Originally posted by n3v3rriv3r Guy's comp really doesn't even suck either. People, I mean just watch some videos. Even the city tours posted by MikeB don't exactly showcase silky smooth framerates. In the Divinity's Reach video, he even states that his FPS dropped to around 15. |
