What would you do if one day, two guys started randomly casting spells near you? Would you run? Would you grow a pair and charge in after seeing them call down a meteor from the sky on a bus full of people? I would. Or, I'd like to think I would. I think that's about to happen in real life.

IDK where I was going with that...my point is, what would YOUR self do if magic like in Guild Wars 2 came to real life?

I would wake up from a dram a few minutes later....  Or i would start to look for the candid camera guy and his special effects team.

I think I would first try to shoot a fireball... you never know, maybe the laws of the universe decided to up and change.  If that didn't work, I'd take off running, hiding behind large objects whenever possible.  If you don't have magic, that probably means your either a melee class or a physical ranged damage class.  Neither of those classes are going to do great with no weapon equipped. ;)

For the first time in lifetime I would retreat to my study room for weeks, months or even years to study the most dangerous yet powerful spells in order to become the most feared and stronges sorcerer of the entire universe MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA.

Thank you! That's what I'm looking for! That's my thought exactly. I'd dive behind cover and we'd have to figure out how to take that mage down. <Evil grins>. I'd loot that chest that we somehow missed on our way into,  OMG I forget where I am! Oh well, I'll make that a side quest. OMG my phone doesn't have a questing app, I guess I'll be looting notebooks as I run from this mage. OMG somehow a truck filled with all kinds of medieval weapons. Ok, enough...like you said the laws of the universe had indeed shifted and now evil held the balance in it's clutches un-hindered. The mage would laugh and cackle hystericaly as he wound up with the final blast of fire...we'd have to learn to defend against magic, that's when I saw it, a blue light started to circle me and white sparks of pure light enveloped me! I realized then and there I could concentrate hard enough to build walls out of thin air. I built one with all my mind and concentration and a wall exploded between me, the dude that jumped to cover with me, and the mage. The convenient store we had been in erupted like an earthquake. Not exploding, just splitting into pieces. Skittles flew everywhere and for a while everyone sang and danced and ate the oh so delicious delight known as skittles.

You mean like Magical cures to diseases like penicilun? Modern day things you take for granted would look like magic to a person from the middle ages.

Christians believe Dungeons & Dragons is the work of the devil, because you roleplay characters who believe in a multitude of deities and follow their dogma's. It's silly and just another case fo religion getting it wrong, but whatever...

If I saw two people casting magic at eachother, I would probably grab a stick and trash can lid and start LARPing with them, at least until the neighbors called the police...

I've been wondering for quite some time how those excessive ellipses would translate to his everyday speech :p  Every time I read one of his posts, I hear it in my mind as if narrated by Eeyore in a slow, somber tone with long pauses and sorrowful sighs in between every sentence.  

But seriously, Bachus, the post is a hypothetical.  It has nothing to do with what is factually possible in reality.

Oh really?  What about spells is physically impossible?  Arent spells similar to magnetism but more complex?  What physical law forbids magic in general?  Seems to me that if you dont even understand a phenomenon it doesnt make sense to claim it is impossible.

To be clear: Im not saying magic is real - just challenging your claim that you know it must be impossible.

I would see if I had magical powers first before I did anything...

I don't think I am capable of taking a couple mages on bare handed as it sits.... lol
