EA is not doing very good. Except from endless sport sequels , they had many investment catastrophies. SWTOR , although still hanging in the air is obviously a lost of over quarter billion dollars , coupled with failure with what was sopposed to be sure shot : best franchise in the world + best developer + hugamonguous budget They got big blow in customer reputation and investor reputation.
Now they have to blow up the numbers. This is why they are giving two great game for one. So that ME3 sales will be maximized and they can say to investors : "We sold X million copies" |

my 3 cents , EA is garbage. 2k sports was so much better before EA. Mythic was so much better befroe EA Bioware was so much better before EA ect ect ect. A pattern has formed and developers like Funcom are getting sucked right in.

It's not desperation.
When I bought Modern Warface 3 from Steam, I also got Modern Warfare for free. And really, they don't have to give away anyhting to sell the game Mass Effect sells itself (and this is from someone who has never bought a ME game). Plus, the more people they get to play BF the better, right? |

If you go to the official Origin store it says that Mass Effect 3 does not come with a copy of Battlefield 3. Does NOT. |

Originally posted by Lobotomist Lets logically break this post down since there are zero factually correct information. :) SWTOR , although still hanging in the air is obviously a lost of over quarter billion dollars How anyone can get the '250Million' figure when EA's financial statements do not mention this is puzzling. EALouse's of '300Million' is now considered false btw.
coupled with failure with what was sopposed to be sure shot : best franchise in the world + best developer + hugamonguous budget They got big blow in customer reputation and investor reputation. I never realized a game that's 2 months old is looked at as a 'failure'. Oh! That '2Million box sales' must have been a lie then too?
So that ME3 sales will be maximized and they can say to investors : "We sold X million copies" If any so-called 'investors' gets fooled by that 'sold X million' statement; they deserve to lose money. Financial due dilligence anyone? We are talking about millions of dollars here.
Your hatred towards a game while puzzling is nothing new in this forum but at least try to get ONE fact right. :( Wonder why there seems to be more haters on the internet? Read this by an actual marketing guy to find out why. |

One thing that puzzles me is that prior to TOR's release Bioware wasn't banging it's drums much about TOR, it was all FUD style quick glimpses of action and very minimal event participation. This leads me to believe that even Bioware wasn't too proud of it's own product. So why do some fans think it's the best thing since sliced bread. It looks like garbage, no endgame, replayability is boring due to overused voiceovers, Leveling is too fast to properly enjoy all the quests, combat is EZ mode, PVP is a mess.... In contrast to GW2 that is headlining every event to show fans every possible aspect of the game because it's that awesome. If I would have bought TOR at release I had no choice but to pray it was awesome. By the time GW2 comes out I will know for a fact that it will be awesome due to the amount of coverage. Looking at the 2 company's faith in their own products brings a stark contrast. |

EA is a horrible company. They destroyed UO and Origin and now their latest is destroying Bioware and SW:TOR. It is the kind of company which cares only about money and nothing else. And no, not all companies are like that. |

Originally posted by Thane One small but crucial detail. Is Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 3 limited edition on the offer? Well, the thing is that regardless, it's a free game, but the limited edition is effectively the whole BF3 game. |

Originally posted by grndzro Who says TOR fans think it was the best thing since sliced bread? Who says most TOR fans don't simply see it as a fun MMO to play? Who says there's no endgame or replayability and that leveling is too fast? Maybe to you, but endgame, replayability and leveling speed is certainly not worse than most other AAA MMO's, and to quite some people even better than in a lot of those other MMO's. If anything, I'd rather think that it's some GW2 fans who're in ultra fanboi mode and who think it's the best thing since sliced bread. Hey, I don't really care, if that's their thing to go into hyper fanboi mode then that's their thing, but let's not use double standards. People simply enjoy what they like, and what one person likes another person can dislike. That's how life usually works. |

Originally posted by Yamota You think that masquerading KOTOR 3 single player, aka SW:TOR wannabe MMORPG was solely EA's decision? Not that I care at this point, I enjoyed SW:TOR for the single player game that it is, but I'm a bit worried about TSW. |

Originally posted by Yamota EA is your typical corporation, no not every company is like that, but most Corps are, its the nature of the beast to purchase, overtake and marginalize. Buying off your competition is the fast track to owning the largest marketshare. If it wasn't EA who bought Bioware you can bet it would have been Activision. This is the way of big business, the farther games move into an accepted role as family entertainment, the worse it will become. Just watch..
