I did the same thing, I hadn't played wow in 2 years. After playing Stwor, I installed wow and tried Catacysm. Wow isn't that great, but I sure hell would not go back to Swtor. I did enjoy the leveling from 1-50 though, but after 50 it was boring. |

Its well within the realms of possibility a person could perceive WoW to have better multiplayer and exploration. |

Originally posted by aleos smart reply, now answer my question. Sure yeah yeah you think that someone who questions this kind of trash post is a blind rabid fanboy.... I'm asking how a game can "drive" anyone of sound mind to do something. I presume you understand the term "drive"?
Usually extreme emotional distress, often as a result of substance abuse or "madness", "drives" people to do something. Perhaps his tile should have read;
"Playing SWTOR made me appreciate the quality of WoW and as a result I resubbed to it" - but that's not so sensational is it? |

Originally posted by Mellkor nothin wrong with going back to an old fave but to blame it on another MMO is just silly. No game coming out will compare to the content that wow has to offer just based on the amount of time the game has been out. |

SWTOR made you play WoW? Well I suppose if you like WoW then more power to you. If not then I'm not sure why you would play something you dislike, unless you are addicted and have to absolutely play an mmo. |

If you gotta play a MMORPG then you gotta play a MMORPG, I'm still subbed to SWTOR, but I play about every other day. There are much better things out there to experience... |

I experienced the same thing as the OP. I understand it, as I have been through it before with AION, and then RIFT, these mmos are all WOW clones, but with differences, some improvements but always lacking something, and this can be sub-consciously jarring. Maybe the pvp isn’t good enough, maybe u miss the classes or design, for me I wanted to finally master pvp, and try Cata out. Once SWTOR's combat began giving me the same déjà vu feeling, I quit before the head-start was even over, and went back to the game all WoW clones make me either miss or hate, WoW.
Still, TERA's combat hasn't had that problem so far, maybe there's hope (for GW2 too).

Originally posted by nikoliath {mod edit} The OP has brought up once again the concern which many of us whom have played the game in beta or retail have raised and that is how SWTOR has the self-inflicted festering wound of copying WoW as it was largely 3 years ago and not all the features it has today. Try this image for size. You have bought a new model car to replace your older model. Some time after the purchase you notice the car has cheaper quality upholstery than the older model. Opening the hood, you notice that the new model has less horse power and examining again the older model you remember all the various upgrades that have went into this car over the years that the new model does not have. The check list continues with the new model not having a built in ipod player etc etc etc and when you are at the moment of decision you start up the older model not out of some "substance abuse or madness drive" but out of common sense.

Are you seriously at a loss of thought that you cant subjectively comprehend the concept of shit compaired to roses? could you not gather the concept of showing up somewhere totally lame and wanting to retreat back to somewhere familiar if not better than presented? What exactly is your point? It's not particularly an infathomable statement. |

Four of my WoW guildies left for SWTOR in december: they are all back now.

Originally posted by aSynchro To play devils advocate, that's how Wow started too. Most people got bored and went back to their main MMOs, because WoW brought nothing new to the table. But, WoW took off because it found the casual audience. SWTOR may do the same. I hope not though. WoW did enough damage to the MMO industry with its singleplayer instancing focus, we don't need SWTOR to finish off the genre. |

I know several people who did the same. A friend of mine played Worgen starter region and said he was so much happier. I will not go to WOW before the expansion. "Things weren't better in the past. But a lot of things were GOOD, and they would STILL be, if people had stopped the fuck messing around with them!" |

Why not? Though I hate to say it, WoW is a better game. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Originally posted by Eir_S It's a better MMO. But that doesn't take much, SWTOR is an awful one, and WoW isn't all that better, but it has the benefit of age. Still, I wouldn't touch either. I wouldn't even call WoW an MMO anymore. |
