Amen man,, you hit it on the head, I leveled 2 X 50's and a level 26 tank and maxed out 3 crafts to 400. I quir rift for the very same reason but even rift drops were always fairly decent in HM's and their crafting is alot better from the start. The nail in the coffin came when I sent in 6 tickets asking for my items to be replaced because after dumping 1 million credits into mats to reverse engineer certain items I was told not to bother because they are glitched, I asked for an explanation and all I got was a droid auto message, after 3 weeks and 6 messages later my last being "I will keep sending in tickets until you answer me" They told me that they were sorry they could not replace items because of the bug but would pass all information onto dev team. I paid good money for the game on 2 accounts (one my sons) and I subbed after the 1st month with both of accs, the thing that gets me is WTF release the game when shizza is broken? I have done many mmo launches and have beta tested dozens of ftp games and AAA games. People say this game had a smooth launch, polony this game was 6 months premature and I'm afraid even when they release more content and fix ILLUM and add better stuff for crafting, It will be all too late
I was a fanboi and I did try really hard not to listen to the WOW mongers,But it doesnt matter what reviews say and what BIO do with their advertisments, the game is flawed majorly. expect server merges within the next few weeks

Originally posted by crysent I hear you. I've played my share of Huttball and all other pvp in TOR. Pvp should be dynamic and instant. That's why i believe they should have used SWG pre-cu's overt/covert system and had every player on the same shard. I thought it would have been fun to have random bases spawn all over different planets for both factions to take or defend for a certain amount of time. Whichever faction held that base at the end were rewarded with small stat bonus and a lower vendor price for a certain amount of time. The faction with the lower numbers could have NPC's that spwan and even things out until actual players came in and then the NPC's despawned. You also would recieve pvp points for holding/defending and killings opposing faction members that could be spent on items that were not gear or stat releated such as, different speeders/at-st's/social gear/banners/holo's and such. Things that a player should be able to dispaly on their ship or whatever type of housing. |

I've never witnessed kill trading on portnowhere just massive pvp battles. Ah well another farewell thread. Why do people think they are so important that we care about why THEY dont like a game. Can u (mmorpg.com) put all these good bye good riddance threads into one sub forum or something. They are clogging up the boards for people that play the game to chat....oh wait no one here plays SWTOR because their all too good for the game and cant wait for there next fix (GW2). Yawn |

Originally posted by blondeh I get a kick out of posts like this on the SWTOR forums, but here they don't fly. Why do you insist on posting on the forums if you like a game, like playing it, and have nothing to lose? You see to me its more like this. These people paid money for something they didn't get the value from. Just like if you and the OP bought a new car, and his broke down a mile from the lot, I wouldn't expect you both to be at the dealer complaining and asking for some redemption. Nor should you have a need to tell the other guy to quit complaining about the car company.
I played a game that others mocked for years, never once did I need to mock them for not liking it. I liked it, that's all I cared about. They had a right to gripe about it not being a good game for them. They spent the money, it was their right. Since BW only seems to be impacted by hype and media, it's a good way to get even to a company they feel ripped them off.

I'm done responding to your post because I know your type all too well. By all means insult away if you think it helps your case, or justifies your position. I found those 6 videos in roughly 30 seconds, I could find many, many more if you really want.
I'm glad you found a server where Ilum is working. |

Originally posted by Bunks I made a thread once about how i got ripped off by a company selling rift keys that got me perma banned twice for fraud. i got flamed to high heaven byt this so called community and mods deleted the thread although I said nothing to cause a riot. Just warned people fo buying anything from g2play or any affiliated websites.. I enjoy 70% of what SWTOR offers. I think people have a bad sense of whats value for money. I've wasted money on many games that ive had 5 mins of fun from. SWTOR in my eyes has enough for any gamer to enjoy for 3 months at least. If getitng to endgame and beating the game is all their coincerned about. I've been playing since early access. I'm not a battlemaster, I've not completed all the raids, I dont have full champion pvp set, i dont have all my trade skills maxed, theres still loads i gotta do. I must admit a big part of my enjoyment is playing with my great guild. I can see how people could not enjoy the game playing by themsevles..but that would stand true for any mmo. |

Originally posted by crysent I can understand peoples pain when they got soo hyped up over a game that in their eyes didnt deliever what they wanted. Saying the game is a complete failure because you didnt find it fun is an over statement. I'm not insulting you personally. I said portnowhere has from what ive seen no kill trading. You then posted 6 video clips from 6 servers (none being portnowhere) to prove your point. I'm not getting worked up man just tired of the clone threads stating the same thing over and over. I guess I should stop defending the game tho peeps gonna think im on thier payroll. Come join my guild man, roll a imp toon and ill show you how to enjoy the game. Unless of course your burntout from this style of mmo, which there is only one answer. Take a break. Thats what i did, im a swg vet and got bored of wow fast and took a big break from mmos before i played SWTOR. Might be why im enjoying it so much im not mmo burnt out. |

Originally posted by blondehOriginally posted by Bunks This is why I'm very careful spending money on least mmos, I am trying to be able to honestly say I enjoyed not only the pve but the pvp as well or least 100% of the game. It's possible now maybe two years ago back in 2010 I'd have to roll with 80% or below because I felt no dev would attempt to make the full 100% of the game enjoyable instead of focusing on one thing. Ahh man can't wait but I shall remain humble. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns-IIn-DG-c Try to argue this please. Oh also if you quote me and it's to argue my point, if I don't respond it means I haven't been corrected by you and/or I haven't seen it. Remember I don't mind admitting I am in the wrong. Take care :D |

Originally posted by blondeh You're missing the point entirely. People that have gamed as long as we have in MMOs don't give a shit to complete all the raids, don't want to grind pvp sets, max trade skills etc. (because they weren't well done and don't matter). Games need risk and reward and until they add risk back into MMOs this is what we get..boredom and unsubbing less than two months into a game's launch. If that is fun for you, you would love working in a factory job. The problem is we've been there done that and frankly as much as I hate to admit it, WoW does it better. The real issue is that the game offers NOTHING new to the genre aside from companions that you can just buy off with gifts. I played with good friends i've had for 30 years..yes 30. None of us liked the end-game, we're all in our 30s and all of us grew up on Star Wars. We were the true definition of fanbois....That's the problem...the game isn't good |

lol. Mythic desingers DID work on this game, some as early as 2009. By 2010 Mythic had been pretty much cannibilzed to work on this game or laid off in EAs third-restructuring. (EA has lost $2.77 billion over the past four years. They haven't show a profit since 03/31/2007. Not even last quarter when they released SWTOR.)

This OP speaks the complete truth. I actually feel really SAD for the people at BW that worked on this. They obviously put a lot of time into this but when you compare say this game to what GW2 has planned it's like comparing the feature set of a 2012 Mercedes to the first Model T Ford. They need to fire Gabe(the pvp designer) immediately and hire someone who knows something about PvP because this is indeed the worst of the worst. I bought the collectors edition, I really wanted to like this game and I've been playing regularly since it came out but I honestly dont see how anyone could truely say they are having a great time post 50 in SWTOR. It's really turned into more contempt and thats the feeling I'm getting from more and more posters. Contempt from what could have been a really good game. It just boils down to really bad design decisions. For example BW released a patch where in the PvP world of Illum it allowed Empire players to CAMP the transport hub of Republic in the republic base for at least 1 full day, racking up thousands of points of Valor(pvp rank points) which gives better gear to even further imbalance the teams. See the vid HERE Furthermore they said they are not rolling back the valor gains from that day! There is such a sour taste in peoples mouth right now about this game that I dont think their reputation can be repaired. It would take a massive overhaul of many of the game mechanics. Dont even get me started on the horrible, horrible performance. I played with an evga gtx 590(a $700 video card) and it was still choppy in many areas. I do my 2 PvP dailies and log off immediately but only because there isn't anyting else to play right now MMO wise. Once either The Secret World or Guild Wars 2 comes out I'm dumping this complete garbage of a game and it's likely that I'll do it before that since this game so horrid in so many ways POST 50.
