On Valentine's Day, nearly 22,000 couples took the virtual marriage plunge in Rift. That's almost 44,000 players! As a result, Rift takes its place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most in-game marriages in a 24-hour period. The entry will officially be published in the 2013 edition of the book.

22,000 couples = 44,000 individual players (toons) PM before you report at least or you could just block. |

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

Well it does say nearly 22,000 couples so it would be less then 44,000 players since no number is exact. |

What's the point of getting hitched in a game>? Actually what's the point of the posts above me? Stating the obvious? |

I hope this doesn't end in nearly 22,000 divorces tomorrow. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Impossible. Limit one divorce per couple.

Originally posted by Whardi Probably closer to 22,000 players, I know people that married multiple alts just for the record
Weddings were very nicely done, kudos to Trion on them.
I thought the PR World Record gimmick was a little lame myself though. |

Originally posted by Eir_S LoL.. Yea.. I think the RP crowd is probably loving it right now. I mean it gives you a wedding planner, ya tux, the wedding dress... and then you get a scripted ceremony too.. A long way from RP marriages in Ultima Online and shit.. Trion knows content, can't say they don't. The more games start bringing in these quirky elements the more the game becomes fleshed out overall. I'm interested to know what types of things come along with being married. There are no player housing, but maybe that opens up some options latter on for couples that are married being able to own housing. Prob not on their idea-scale but it's a thought.. PM before you report at least or you could just block. |
