Hey there, I'm looking for any other MMO out there were it's possible to do lots of dungeons while leveling similar to WoW's set up. I am looking for something where it's possible to pick up a group within 15 minutes or less to go do a dungeon within every level range. I'm tired of hopping from game to game where the only choice is to solo quest. I am open to any suggestions! As far as I know WoW is honestly the best bet for what I'm looking for, except that I've already played it for far too long and have seen most, if not all, of the content. |

You're probably not going to find a game with a quicker, more convenient grouping system for dungeons than Spiral Knights. Every level can be 1-4 characters, and the mob difficulty scales with the number of characters in your group. You can pick the tier and gate you want to do, and then have the game throw you into a random PUG that isn't yet full. Or you can start your own group. You can allow the game to toss others into your group, or make it so that only friends and/or guildies can join. You can also jump into the group of a friend or guildie nearly wherever they are if it's not full and open to friends or guildies, respectively. So if you don't want a big fuss trying to assemble a group, you can usually be in one within 1-2 minutes of logging on if so inclined. Do be warned that Spiral Knights does a lot of stuff differently, not just having a good grouping system. For starters, your skill matters tremendously, and combat isn't mostly a convoluted level and gear check to see if you've spent enough time grinding to be allowed to proceed, the way it is in WoW. You have to pay attention and dodge, and if you try to stand there trading hits like you do in WoW, you'll fail miserably. You also don't get experience points at all, but you get stronger as you upgrade your gear. |

Originally posted by BLueBEar DDO is easily in the top 5 of my favorite games to play of all time, but I played a lot of tabletop D&D back in the day. It doesn't fully capture that group feel, but it's still a blast. With that being said every single quest you can group up for, because every quest is kind of it's own dungeon. Only two things that I forsee being a problem is most groups nowadays just fly through the content without letting new players "stop and smell the roses", and the LFG tool could be more robust. DDO is still a good candidate though, and worth a look considering it's free to play. |
