I kinda doubt it. TSW do have the potential of getting a higher playerbase than earlier FunCom games and I like the idea of a Cthulhu styled modern world MMO. TERA and TSW is going straight up against eachothers and anything can happen there.

GW2 will be up against Wow, TOR, Titan, Copernicus, Class 4 and possible WoDO. 

TSW will be up against Rift, TERA, EQ Next, PS2, LOTRO and similar games. Successful games but not the ones that are truly huge.

I have no doubt that GW2 will have the largest player base. It is B2P after all. I think community wise, TSW will be much better though. Every kid under the sun will be playing as they don't need a mommy or daddy's credit card number. I agree with one of the posters above me that GW2 is probably a little too over hyped. I have more of a wait and see attitude with GW2. I see the potential for numerous things that sound great on paper or play great on a limited playthrough but might not stand the test of months of playtime. I'll for sure buy it at launch and give it a play through though. I am also not a huge fan of anything NCSoft.

 

Okay, I'm seeing this in every post and its bugging the hell out of me, NCSoft isnt working on GW2 its Arenanet, Arenanet is a subsidory of NCSoft, but Arenanet holds all the cards on the GW2 title, please check out the Arenanet website and read up on this company.  Sorry but its one of them niggles that has been eating at me.

They are OWNED by NCSoft. They are not a seperate entity. I work for a company that is owned by a major defense corporation. Sure, they allow us to develop stuff on our own, but the ultimate financial decisions lie with them and everything we do is reported to them. I know as much as many of you would like to believe that they are only making games for the world's entertainment, they are doing it to make a profit.

Because your companies budget is controlled by another company then Anet budget is controlled by NCSoft? like I said go do some reading mr know it all.

 Their budget is owned by NCSoft. They OWN Arenanet. What part don't you understand. Their profits are NCSoft profits. On ArenaNet's website...  "ArenaNet is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Korea-based NCsoft Corporation". A subsidiary is a company that is either partially or completely owned and wholly controlled by another company that owns at least half of the subsidiary's stock. In ArenaNet's case, the company is wholly owned.

GW2 is in a completely different ballpark and comparing Tera to it is like putting your kid brother/sister up against Mike Tyson.  Tera isn't THAT good.  Combat is good and all but a truly great MMORPG is more than just how good it's combat feels.

And people stop ditching twitch combat.  There is a lot more 2 it then click click click.  The same timing,  combos,  and power builds up excist in twitch as they do in traditional MMOs.  The only difference is you actually have to aim to accomplish your goal.

I dont think so, tera cant even compete against aion, rift, and other games that are considered failed mmorpgs, tera imo is a generic asian mmorpg, with a better then average quality in terms of graphics with a different combat system, and different doesnt mean better or that people will like it more then the tab target used by the best and most played mmorpgs.

Imo tera will do worst then aion here in the western (EU and US), even in asia its not in the top 10 mmorpg games.

I tend to agree. Both in terms of quest mechanic and pricing GW2 has an advantage. Still, I think that Tera will have a six month leeway in the west before GW2 launches.

A more immediate threat to Tera will be TSW, since it has interesting game mechanics and a different and interesting theme. And of course they launch with roughly a month difference.

Thats a very unoptomistic release date prediction for GW2! So you think GW2 will be Q4? I somehow really doubt that.

I predict an either September or October release at the earliest for GW2. Anything earlier is wishful thinking.

Why do people keep saying GW2 will kill any game. People will play it with another game, or at least alot will.

 I tend to agree, you could be surprised but it's not likely. Nothing has even been announced yet.

As for GW2 and Tera they both have their perks but are not in competition with eachother, especially with GW2 being B2P(although we know people will spend endless amounts in the cash shop, like always while claiming B2P is cheaper).

This pretty much. While I'm all for GW2 being the 'wow killer', there are still many things which aren't clear about the game. Especially WvWvW and endgame dungeons/ dragon encounters.

Lobo, you know how to turn the MMORPG community against an upcoming game. ;)

I wish TERA all the best because my gf loved the beta and hopes to play it in the future.  Personally, I'm not a fan.  I'll stick to GW2.

All in all It feels like a win win situation  for me becuase I will be subbing to Tera wich I love and playing GW2 for free after I pay the purchase price. So cheers to both games!

I can have the best of both worlds BECAUSE GW2 is buy to play. I'll sub to TERA and purchase GW2.
