There is no way that can happen. Every player is bumped to max level with max level gear, skills, and traits. So purchasing items for pvp doesn't work.

Well I can see it being rewarded to shy aware from the Guild Wars part (not everyone knows about the game after all) but at the same times its possibly they might be seeking to sell more through cash shop. Either way I say just be a little cautious but also consider it doesn't nessisarily mean anything bad either.

Seriously guys you need to calm down, we have no confirmation from the dev about this matter, all we can do now is wait until Martin, Eric or Rubi respond to this problem and clarify to us what is going to be in the microtransaction.

No way. I think we need to overreact as much as possible. Because you know, this is the internet.

Not exactly, since all GW2 top level gear is balanced against eachother it means they wont be better than any top level gear. In most F2P games you can buy stuff that is comparibly to raid gear which means it is a lot better to the gear you get directly once you hit max level.

It is not a step in the right direction though, but better than what LOTRO did recently.

I miss Strain, they didn´t start to sell cosmetic stuff either in GW until just after he left the lead designer post.

Well, it definitely opens the door for  a lot more things than they have talked about previously.

I have faith that Arenanet will keep to their principals on the cash shop, but I'm just a tiny bit worried that NCSoft might want to be more aggressive with cash shop items than Arenanet would prefer.

In the end, though, even if other players could purchase things I have to work for, I'm not going to not play as a result. I play to have fun.

I find it funny how every time one of these threads emerges on GW2guru, an ArenaNet dev always has to come and reassure folk that the sky isn't falling again. When will Guild Wars 2 fanatics learn.

That's the thing, some people just like to jump the gun and assume that ANET are putting P2W stuff when they don't have the patience to wait till further clarification from ANET.
