When I fired up the game, and saw that most of the fonts were so tiny as to be hard to read or illegible. I realized then that the developers had no common sense and commitment to quality whatsover, and not much I've seen in this game or in their numerous tweaks since has tended to disavow me of that notion.

First video I seen tbh. I could tell right then the game is going to not live up to the hype at all, I waited till I tried it during the 2 day weekend beta, then that confirmed how crappy swtor was to me, and I decided not to waste my money on a biliant wow clone with nothing special really about it, VO's don't count for anything for me, since almost every  game has them now a days. during the 2nd day of the beta I was in I was falling asleep INCOMBAT because the game was so boring, and I just woke up an hour or 2 before so its not because I was tired. I suspect maybe another 4-5 months it'll end up going f2p, because honestly, swtor should have been a single player game, it just doesn't have the mmo feeling to it at all, and I can't justify paying a sub fee for that.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

or

B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!

Currently waiting for: Phantasy Star Online 2

The main flaw I see with TOR is its longevity plan. Full VO is really expensive. They need a larger subscription base to offset the cost of creating fully voiced expansions and updates. They have set this standard for their game. If they drop off, it will look cheap and that could really hurt them in the long run.

The End

The negatives and positives happened in this order for me :

I roll my anticipated class, Smuggler.

- I discover that I can't change much about the ridiculously large UI. I would never put chat in top left corner myself (wtf?) and quickslot bars all over the place.

+ But the story for my first class choice Smuggler makes me smile and have hope.

- The cover mechanics are starting to feel artificial, cumbersome and sometimes outright silly. Seeing my character taking cover with his back towards a mob. Or finding objects which seem suitable for cover, only to discover that the devs forgot to designate that particular object coverworthy. There is only low cover to shoot over. No cover to stand behind to shoot around at all. Even with the shield you get at low lvl it still felt cumbersome.

+ I find my first datacron by aimlessly running around and killing mobs. I explored, yay :/

I try a new class, this time a melee class. Jedi knight.

- Immediately notice wonky targetting. Even though I checked a few times in preferences Im certain that I didnt turn on autotargetting. Still, the game really wants to 'help' me. Sometimes when I run up to a mob, the game then choses a target for me just before I tab, making me tab to a target out of range of course. I fking hate this! I cant find any reason why the game sometimes decides to target for me, it also feels very inconsistent. Also when tabbing it can switch to next, but also switch back to closest (noticed it with ranged class too, but it wasnt as disruptive because of the range).

I roll a trooper.

+ I like the combat. Well, its good enough for me to enjoy the story and missions.

- Troopers are such a stuck up saluting bitches. My first two companions dont seem to know how to have fun and keep disapproving anything I say. Definately not my kind of crew :p So I decide to roll a different class.

I roll a Bounty Hunter.

+ Great time on Hutta and love insulting Imperials or make fun of Sith.

- Patchday. Devs decided to put in a FLASHY GLOBAL COOLDOWN EFFECT! So that there can't be a misunderstanding about WHEN THE GLOBAL COOLDOWN ENDS! I got used already to the rhytm of the combat. I really dont like flashes every single second. Even my toggle skills were flashing lol. But I guess that some people might like flashy because it is pwetty. This was really a very nooby change by the devs. Rage/force users must've loved this :p

+ Devs came to their senses and showed what they were planning for the global cooldown effect in an upcoming patch. Some usefull options in preferences.

- Dromund Kaas. Who ever designed the mission layout and flow, I want to kick him/her. And please connect the city taxi service to the rest of the planet lol. And this planet just screams day/night cycle with its drizzling rain during night!

- One cutscene too much that drops me blindly into some fight. I really like the cutscenes storywise, but please let me control fights on my own way. There is nothing satisfying for me with finishing a fight by spamming every AOE skill I have because the cutscene dropped me in the middle of several melee mobs and the game's targetting is pissing me off.

Then I cancelled. Im going to check again in a few months to see if they changed something about the targetting, camera and UI. If not, I wont try it again.

When I got a quest, and ran at super slow motion speed. Then repeated this for a few more levels.

The countless times I crashed to character select screen in war zones.

No LFD system in the year 2012. That's like a car missing its muffler.

Out of those three I think the major one is no LFD system. Its comical.

I didn't even mind the fact that it wasn't really scenery at all, just a series of pathways; I knew this was going to be a very limited themepark game anyway. No, what got me was that when I returned to the cantina to hand in my mission, I couldn't sit down on a chair. Now, I don't know how difficult that would be to programme or animate but I do recognise that somewhere along the line, someone in Bioware or EA said: 'Siting? Too expensive to develop. Fuck them if they want to sit down, they can squat on the floor. I don't remember Han and Chewie sitting down, do you?'. And it was then I realised this game was bad.

What the first indication to you - either in a statement or press release issued before the game or in your own personal experience during beta or post-launch - that this game was deeply flawed?

Deeply Flawed? Yea not being able to sit just ruins the whole game experience!

1) No dungeon/flashpoint finder tool

2) PVP for 1-50 all in one game

I just solo quested to 50 then did some PvP then canceled my sub when it started booting me to the character screen most of the time when I tried to enter a battleground.

The statement that " Swtor is seriously flawed " didn't register with me till I got another win not registered with Warzone as I am about to log off and only needed 1 more win.

And also when everyone was duplicating the extra people in warzone exploit and then you go to the forums and find posts after posts with people saying that its a bug and not an exploit because you can't duplicate it. ( Just so you know, its very duplicate able especially when you do this exploit, the wins seems to always register and you get a win in 2 minutes so its a really quick way to get your dailies done )

And also when the same person that speed hacks and those that afks warzones is still in the game after 1.5 months from release after reporting the gamer 10 times.

Life is a Maze, so make sure you bring your GPS incase you get lost in it.

It's not the fact that you cannot sit that makes it deeply flawed, its the developers making the decisions like not allowing people to sit that make the game flawed. What is that deep flaw you ask? That the devs will sacrafice everything except the absolute bare minimum to focus on vo and story. For a single player game that is just fine but for a MMO where you pay a monthly fee and the story runs out quickly, its a gigantic flaw.

When it was announced.  Seriously.

Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

It was the cheap and shoddy matte painting background seen on the horizon.  It told me I would never be able to go explore that way, ever and that the world was filled with invisible walls and arbitrary zone lines ruining any idea of immersion or world feel.

The second aspect was the shuttle to space station to planet to ship etc. loading screen shuffle.  Another immersion breaker and time waster.

My list and no I am not saying the game is ZOMG going to die:

1. non customizable UI

2. No enviroment effects like night and day

3. No swimming

Those are my top 3 basic things that kind of flag me to the game not being long term. Other stuff like single server war fronts after god knows how many years of evidence that this consisitently fails. No dual spec after Rift was almost a requirement. Graphics looked twitchy and the art style IN MY OPINION looks out dated.

When i hit 50 and learned that i either grind pvp or grind hardmodes. Honestly give me something else to do, I mean rift has artifacts, chronicles, rifts, instant adventures, achievements, and the traditional pvp and dungeons.

Been a skeptic of GW2 since its announcement. Waiting for Neverwinter, TSW, Archeage, and Life is Feudal.

SWTOR is the most successful MMO after WoW, you guys should learn to live with that. Is a new game and it wil be better and bigger in the incoming months. If you dont like it is ok, but swtor is far far far away to be a ¨fail¨.

Outside of the usual new release bugs, balance, etc I do not find SWTOR flawed. I played the beta and I knew exactly the game Bioware was offering and they delivered. That fact it was not the mmo some wanted does not make it flawed. I play the game that I bought and do not rush through the content and love it. Are there problems yup, I also love Skyrim and it has problems too. I love WOW, EQ2, LOTRO, Asheron's Call, SWG, Eve, DAOC and you know what they all had flaws but I loved them all. I simply play the game the developers made and if it falls short I simply move on. People wanted SWTOR to be the next SWG and it isn't that is why so many people were disappointed.

Everyone saying this game isnt flawed you must not have played much, I defended this game for years and after some beta time and a month of subscribing I cancelled and WILL NOT go back anytime soon. Why would i want a battle system the exact same as games I have been playing since 1999?! Its 2012, we want something NEW!

If i want a great story, Dragon Age, Skyrim, Mass Effect, SWKTOR I&II are all there

I wanted a good-great story but with new MMO features, they didnt give anything new. Its WoW combined with SWKTOR, which seemed great, 6 years ago...now its just...lame
