The future is F2P or B2P.

/agree Good thing, in a few months we have TERA. I've already quited Lineage II because of the ENORMOUS amount of bots in-game and playing WoW for the moment (when TERA servers are not up). Hell, even WoW gives a better gaming experience now than Lineage II since it went Free4Bots ...uhm... Free2Play |

Does not make a difference what people say. Facts are facts regardless of whether you like them or not. EA has control of what Bioware does now just like NC Soft has control of what Arena Net does. Copmanys like EA and NC Soft are not just publishers for companys like Arena Net and Bioware. This is all I am saying so tell me what you are saying because I dont see nonthing from your statement. Originally posted by Mannish Some people think (erroneously) that the controlling parent has zero say in what goes into the games development, which is not true. Take one look at SWTOR and you can almost point to the EA inspired flaws that I think Bioware would have avoided had they been totally autonomous. Same thing will happen in GW2, NCSoft gave free reign to developers before and it didn't turn out well, they'll be making sure their investment in GW2 goes to their satisfaction. Time will tell whether that influence will be largely posititve or negative.

Originally posted by Kyleran it really is a crap-shoot to me with NCsoft; i look at them and think, they were the developers of l2 and producers of CoH which are great games, but they are also the team that stood to one side and let bots and afk macroers cripple l2.
out of all the major mmo corporations I have the most "love-hate" relationship with ncsoft; even more than with ccp..... Currently Playing EQ2, TERA Recommendation of a game you probably haven't tried: POTBS, Atlantica, L2 |

Originally posted by Loktofeit exactly. and this is the best F2P model, IMO. If it is very successful, then hopefully other companies try to mirror it. Most F2P is anything other then Free and you are better off just paying the $15 -- see any SOE "F2P title. |
